FYI anyone who has any account with CodeMasters, their website has been compromised by hackers, including account information, IP addresses, emails, and (encrypted, I hope) passwords:

Yeah I received an email... Can't remember signing up with them, but must have at some point in the past? What's with all these hack attacks lately?
-
Hacking is becoming more serious crime. To reduce chance of being hacked, I suggest to install firewall and good antivirus software in your computer, and choose a good password which cannot be easily guessed by hackers. Hackers if caught are punishable by law.

Nobody cares about hacking home networks unless you have very specific information they want or just want to use your internet. The goldmines are the data centers that harvest hundreds to thousands of users data. But why isn't all this stuff encrypted?
-
Yes... Lately, there have been LOTS of hacks. Epic Games was just hacked, FBI partners too... Altough the hackers have a legitimate reason like protecting our rights, doing the right thing and protecting our freedom of expression... It kind of sucks for those who were the victims in the crossfire, though.

Also, LulzSec has announced a hack against Sony taking place tomorrow. -
I think that most people (including even hackers) believed that the big sites and corporations would have done a much better job of this, but once Sony was hacked again and again and again, it became obvious that while things like credit card numbers are indeed secure, there exist many weak points (like the people who made the database for some random raffle forgetting to guard against even SQL injection). -

Moral of the story: learn to protect yourself from a consumer standpoint because the big corporations sure as heck aren't bulletproof. Don't use the same passwords for all of your accounts, accrue multiple aliases, and keep an eye on your bank statements/credit history.

btw, Epic Games hacked too. Got email.

Other things like forums and other internet sites are usually same password or some variation of it. But whatever. Maybe time to stop using abc123. -
This is what follows when you have ungrateful little brats cheering up hackers like Geohot and justifying it by imagining that the hack is for the man. Yet every single time it is the man who get hurt...
And don`t even get me started on the group Anonymous which I supported before who went out on the streets and petitioned against Church of Scientology. Now they are recruting mindless teenagers with no life to use the DDOS software to bring websites and services down. They are truly bringing the word "do*chebag" to another level. -

They have a mobile version as well, so you can get you accounts on the go. There's no 'sync' yet...but I just update it on my phone by emailing the database as an attachment.
I think most people have the wrong idea about passwords. Want something hard for a computer to crack? Make it non sequential...
ex) 1234qwerasdfzxcv (first 4 chars of each row on qwerty)
or
1qaz2wsx3edc
Keyboard patterns. Easy to remember tons of characters, because it's muscle memory. -

I don`t want to open up a new thread for this, but Lulzsec have hacked and put down EveOnline (still down), League of Legends (no idea if it is up), Minecraft (down in many areas), the website TheEscapistMagazine (up now after many hours down) and a security company...All in one day. LOL
