P.S.- Is there any way I can change my name on here??

Don't forget the non-existent hitboxes...
-
The writing seemed a little... amateurish, but not too bad for a first. Also, a 10/10... come on man. 10/10 is almost unachievable in gaming... this game is surely not that great.

Change the background of your blog. It make it look weird... Other than thanks for the review.
-
Nice job, just a word of advice; change the formatting, its inconsistent and is every where, sometimes above the pics, besides, underneath...you get what I mean.
This is just a general opinion, but I would put "only available to US and Oceanic Countries" as a major con...us Europeans can't play it...yet -
Thanks a ton for all the advice, I tried to fix most of the issues. Check it out.. again.
-
I really don't like the color scheme of you blog. Its kinda childish looking. As for the review, I thought combat arms was like the poor man's COD... More like a 6... but thats your opinion.
-
The formatting is still all over the place.
@ sujinge9. I reckon he is a child, early teens. Hence hes probs very excited to create his first of many to come blogs and make it about games (with the intention of it adding more reviews, but over time will not...if I'm right that is) -
the game is a 5/10 at best. Graphics are soorly outdated. There is no refill ammo on the maps that I know of. Hitboxes are awful. There are NO physics in the game.
Comon 8/10? Then I supposed you think Prey was a 10/10. -
The review scores would be more helpful with more games reviewed. Then we can see where each game stands in respect to something we have experience with. This is because each reviewer/review site has a different leniency when it comes to giving scores. E.g. gamespot scores are generally lower than IGN scores, so I automatically offset the GS score when reading the review. (I actually pay the most attention to user reviews).

Ya.................
I'm 15..............
wow... should have just kept it to myself and played with it....
clearly since I wasn't a jerk, like most reviewers.... I'm terrible.
Thanks for being a tad bit posotive blackbird.
Guess I wasn't cut out to be a video game reviewer anyways...
I would like to see someone else's blog... for comparison. Since, mine seems to be too childish. Next time... I'm just gonna keep it to myself. Ya people always complaining about stuff.. wow. The graphics are a little dated, sure... but do you see COD4 running on a gma 900?? I think not... this game rocks for people with a little older machines... I'm getting a new lappy in late november/december, and am gonna be playing alot more games and experimenting alot more... guess that'll just be my own little fun experience. Since, I'm sure there are plenty biased reviews out there people can read.... too bad I don't get paid to give a game a 8/10 score... This was pretty much just experimental. I wrote that review in about 30 seconds... Ya.. it's pretty lame.. But c'mon... I truly want a good example from someone..
EDIT: I guess that was a little harsh. I like the baby blue!? lol sorry guys I appreciate the help. Just a bit frustrating. I'm sure since most of you guys pretty much feel sorta the same way about it, it must be true. I'll try to make it better. Thanks again!
EDIT: Tried to re-do the layout so it isn't so everywhere. Also, what color would look best as the background? I think I'm going to stick with a solid color, because I'm not so good with patterns. xD
EDIT: Put your cursor above the left corner of the header image. xD -
I like the ideas, you have lots of screen shots and the banner is pretty sweet.
A couple of suggestions:
-Try to find a template that will adjust the width of the columns so that the middle column can be a bit wider so its easier to read.
-Also play around with the colors more, some parts of it are a bit hard to read (but I do like the light text on a dark background).
-Simpler sometimes is better, you don't want to distract the reader from the review.
-Perhaps include a few SS's throughout the review and the rest put them in a separate entry that can be linked on the review page. -
In case you guys didn't know Combat Arms 1.0 is FINAL. It includes some new features like a new game mode CTF! It's really hard though because the enemy can return the flag if you cap it an die.

Hey man, I think your blog is pretty good for a first one. This is your first post and review anyway, you are still trying to find what you like in terms of layout and color schemes. It takes a while just be patient.
Don't listen to anyone bad mouth your site. It's new. If you keep working at I'm sure with time it'll come into it's own. Don't give up. -
I'm not trying to "bad mouth his site", but his original score was 10/10. Doesn't matter if you can run it on a GMA900 or not, a 10/10 was just ridiculous. Keep it up, you will get better, it just seems very rushed, and scarem.
-
Yeah no offence, but some of you never learned how to be constructive critics and come off as self-absorbed *colorful language*. How obnoxious of you peeps... (But not you KGANN, I <3 you too much).
My recommendation: Make sure to proofread your work out loud twice, it will help you with the flow of the work and make for a very much improved review. Try different color schemes and themes just for kicks. -
The Forerunner Notebook Virtuoso
Good work. I didn't think it was bad at all for a first timer. My first review wasn't great. It'll get better over time. My piece of advice would be to use pictures in between pargraphs. I usually put a relevant picture in to what the last paragrah I wrote about. Its a nice divider and makes it a much better layout.

mm yeah I don't really think that whether people can play the game or not on their machines should affect the game's score.
Recently, my little brother asked me to play the game so I started playing it, and I must agree with whoever said it's a 10/10. There are still just so many problems with it, but of course it's still in its beta phases so I suppose that's normal.
I mean, first off, the hitboxes are just terrible, and it makes it seem like it takes forever to kill someone. I know that if a game were too realistic, it might ruin the fun of it, since you would probably die far too quickly, but this is just too much. The graphics are alright since it's free, and most of the gameplay is decent. But, although this might be personal, I hate the idea of buying an item for a limited time. This just doesn't make any sense to me. I mean.. it'd make more sense if you had to buy bullets or something.. but then that would just get out of hand too.
Then let's not forget how annoying spawn protection is. I know that if they take it off, it's just going to get much worse, but the way they have it now is a really bad approach. I mean, when you play one man army, which is basically free for all, it's annoying to have someone spawn behind you and kill you. But, it's even worse when they spawn in front of you, you let out 5 bullets into their face only to get killed because you can't hurt them. Or, let's not forget when you're trying to capture the enemy flag and people spawn right next to you and kill you because you can't do anything at all to retaliate.
I'm not trying to badmouth your review or anything, I'm just giving my own opinion. For the time being, I'd say it would be a 6/10, but after they fix the problems, 7/10 or even an 8/10 would seem appropriate. -
Unfortunately, I am not much of a "reviewer" neither. I've wrote some music CD reviews on a college news paper (and some other articles)..So, you are 15 years old, eh? Its not that bad or anything, and everyone has to start somewhere. -
