Hello to all. New to forum and notebooks. Bought a Dell i9300 for digital photography/video work but thinking of rekindling my love for combat flight simulators (CFS). Anyone out there a CFS fan? What is the newest, hottest CFS out there? Any of them support widescreen yet? Anyone using dual USB joysticks with their laptop? If so, what brand?

I prefer WWI, WWII or Korea/Vietnam era sims. Not big on the newer stuff although I did like the Longbow attack helicopter game years ago.

Favorites back when I played were:

    Red Baron
    Chuck Yeagers Air Combat
    Longbow

No too interested in ultra realism and a billion buttons, just great action, graphics and mayhem in the air. Like games that have aircraft carrier landings too but not too picky.

    Thanks!

I'm just getting back into pc combat flying too.I was a daily regular on the M$ Zone for CFS 1999-2002.Really great times.
In keeping with the series CFS3 might be up your alley,it's been out a while and there's plenty of add-ons.
I'm starting out with IL2 Sturmovik.I bought it at release time in 2001 but never had a system that could run it until now.Of course there's been a few developments since then.Naturally the newer it is,the more demanding it is on hardware so I'll start out with what I already have.
Personally I stick with WWII and like the immersion of realism.Initially I'm quite surprised at the simplicity of IL2 when it comes to commands, perhaps this is a result of it being designed with input from the sim community, but it also has many options to choose your level of play.
