Does anyone have a solution to the lag when playing zero hour? Specs below. I tried GetSet CPU Affinity and the lag still comes back after a while.

What do you mean by lag, and when does it occur? When there's tons of units, the game can slow down quite a bit, even with a decent CPU.

I used to have to use set affinity, but for some reason I haven't had to the last time I loaded it up. Maybe Windows 7 fixed that, I dunno.

I see you have your machine UC'd (I assume that means undervolted?) to 1V. Perhaps a heavy load is causing it issues... try removing the undervolting temporarily and testing out C&C, see if that changes things. Setting affinity can actually lead to reduced performance on modern OS's... it prevents the system from making the right decision. Just like it used to be that using soft-RAM programs used to be useful until systems finally implemented proper virtual memory ;)

It can also be the map... many player created maps have horrible AI pathing, and many times a bunch of units will get bunched up in a corner and do nothing but eat up CPU cycles. We've run into that a number of times when we play. Try a standard, C&C created map with the same settings you were using and see if that lags.

Its just how the game is made. :(
It records a "replay" of everything in the game, and a large map pluss loads of units just kills the speed.
You just have to live with it.
