    HOLY >>>>> WOW!

I am SOOO Happy. But this is EA so lets hope they don't screw it up. Based on this trailer it's using the Frostbite 2 engine! How phenomenal!

Same here. I still play skirmishes on occasion just for fun, and still get online with a couple buddies periodically, well have to use Hamachi because the matchmaking for the game sucks.

Not to be Negative Nancy or being a pre-critic, but I am not sure if this is going to have the right feel like the first Generals. Considering that Frostbite 2 isn't really resigned for a RTS and that BioWare (who has NEVER done a RTS COMING from Single Player RPG's) is going to try to replicate an unique style of Westwood is going to give us the "Wow!" Effect that we are all hoping. Hope BioWare succeeds but they don't, then I am kind of not surprised either.

I just hope they don't manage to kill that franchise like they killed the tiberium series with C&C4. I'm tempted to say they can't do worse, but i'm actually scared they will. The game is in different hands, but at Star Forge said, unexperienced RTS hands.

Generals is among my favorites, with RA2, C&C3 and the less known emperor battle for dune (gotta find a copy of that game by the way and of generals, i lost my discs somehow).

one good thing is that this will be a new studio of bioware, so not the rpgs division, that's good, otherwise it could have been a fiasco (they really lack the skill for rts), I am hoping it will be a good one :)

I kinda thought similar, but we can hope. Generals was a great game (and still is) despite its flaws. It was never balanced particularly well, but you learned to live with it. But most of all, the games were fun. Super weapons made all the difference. Sure they were a bit over powered, but resource gathering was actually rapid and had multiple ways to acquire it (supply depots, oil rigs, supply drops, market, etc) so you weren't always just fighting for resources, you were fighting to win, and could actually recover from a super weapon attack.

I just hope it's not all bling and no strategy. Based on that trailer, I just hope that's a zoomed in view of the action, because I still like to stand back well above the action and control troops. Although ability to hop in a vehicle time and again wouldn't be bad. Maybe it's even like Battlezone. I haven't seen an RTS/FPS like that since that was released. I think it would be a welcome option too.

Hopefully they get rid/balance superweapons and the different generals properly... that really killed ZH for me.

Also make the game less turtely - some games just used to drag on coz a guy would just sit back all game.

But really stoked... but 2013 is a long way off!

Command and Conquer 4 was not all that bad.
Sure it was a far cry from the original build setup BUT it catered more to multiplayer.
Quite the competitive community on that one now.

Still i love to build epic bases and really CRUSH my opponent.
Or try to control the battlefield forcing my enemy into a corner.

GENERAL!!!, our land is being attacked. >_<

C&C 4 was a decent multiplayer but the campaign sucked. IMO C&C is more about the single player. The just spoiled the whole Tiberium story arc for me with C&C 4. The multiplayer was decent thought. But the thing most C&C games have an epic single player followed by a fun multiplayer and i hope Generals 2 wont disappoint. TBH i was disappointed with Generals 1 when it came out but i slowly grew to love it. Though it is my 2nd fav of all the 3 arcs with the Tiberium arc being the first.

I bet this will have as much in common with Generals or the C&C franchise as a disney game. Time and time again I have seen them obliterate this franchise so all I expect this to be is the final nail in the coffin.

Instead, I look forward to Tiberian Sun Rising and the Renegade X singleplayer campaign / skirmish.
