You might want to play the demo before you buy it. It's got some interesting game mechanics that you might or might not like but I love it. Great graphics, physics and gameplay. Definitely worth buying.

I only played the multiplayer beta, but here are my thoughts:

1: It's a great game. No doubt about that. It's innovative, and adds some great ideas to the RTS genre. Fun to play, very intense, and looks great.

2: I prefer DoW. Not sure exactly why. Maybe it's the faster-paced gameplay, maybe it's the larger variety in unit types, and the bigger difference in strategies between different races.
CoH is still a good game, but the two sides are too similar for me, and while many of the additions are brilliant, there are also some I'm not a big fan of. The victory point system just seems like a slippery slope. If you're not the first to capture the victory locations, it's an uphill struggle just to stay alive.
DoW was much more dynamic, where you might be about to lose one minute, and then seconds later, you're on top of the game.
    DoW > CoH > StarCraft > other RTS'es
    :)

most people spam tanks in every other game there are tanks too. Too bad theres no air units!

Always PLAY DEMO BEFORE PURCHASE. You have a pc, pc games have demos that can be downloaded from anywhere. Use ur resources.

I think its fun, though i cant play it max settings. WOuld probably be more fun

I love this game. Totally addicted right now. Love the endless different strategies you can try. I think the computer AI is very tough in the skirmish mode. The first skirmish still gives me trouble. I might just suck at RTS games, but I think it's hard. Fun as hell though.

I played the demo and loved it. I bought it on the release day and loved it for 2 days. On the 3rd day I realized that I never did like RTS games and was more hoping that this would be like Close Combat of which it wasn't. So now my version be sold on Ebay.

As I've said before, you need to play it multiplayer to really get the most out of the game. Relic has always been better at multiplayer than singleplayer.

I'll be testing it tonight silencer on my 7400, so I'll let you know how it goes.

Got it yesterday, and installed it on my main desktop - running at about 30-40fps at 1280x1024 with everything on max with my 7600GT, looks amazing. Even zoomed in, the indiviual soldiers look excellent, pretty much as good as the enemies in older FPS titles like Call of Duty or similar, which is rather excellent for an RTS.

Sound effects are brilliant, especially with my audigy and 5.1 setup :D

Have not played campaign mode yet but skirmish is excellent, can't wait to try multiplayer.

Has anyone played it on low end hardware? I've heard reports that it struggles even with 9600xts and 9800 pros....

Does it work, even on lowest of low settings, on the GMA? Dawn of War did, but I don't hold much hope for my friend this time with CoH, he'd love to be able to play this game. Anyone tried the following cards:

    GMA900
    FX5200
    X200?

    Would love to hear feedback.

Tried it on my 7400. Not too bad - 1024x768, with options on medium-ish. Runs pretty good.
