Company of Heroes 2! ? I didn't even know!

I don't know how I missed this, and didn't see it posted here either, but there's a Company of Heroes 2 coming in 2013!

It was announced a couple months ago! I haven't found a decent trailer showing gameplay yet though, just images, and these days it's hard to tell if it's actual in-game footage or

I've been stoked and looking forward to it since it was announced!

Hope it's gonna go on sale soon . I'm totally stoked about this game.

Yeah, I'm really looking forward to this game. I suck at the first, and would probably suck at this too, but it's the most clever and action packed RTS I've ever played.

I just hope this time around they'll improve my teammates' AI, which seemed to just sit there and watched me handle multiple armies by myself.

 

Yeah but that trailer doesn't show anything. Just a hype trailer.

I don't recall reading about it anywhere and no fanfare from any place I recall. I would have expected some major press considering the original was such a success.

I wasn't real good at the first either, but it was a good change of pace from the typical RTS. Well executed and a very good campaign.

 

They are implementing interesting weather effects relating to snow. And adding more manoeuvres to infantry like the ability to jump over low walls etc.

I just hope they add more than two factions... I don't just want to play Russia v Germany.

It was a big knock on the original until they launched the expansion.

 

why all great games are coming around 2013 I need them now!

 

Not me, lol. I have too huge a backlog, I could do without any new games for oh, about 10 years.

 

that's the thing about me, I never stay tuned to games for too long, just play a bit and move on so no backlog for me! I just need great new games PA, CoH2, Metro Last Light, oh come on!

also forgot to mention (and I know you are delighted with flight simulations ) if you are interested in space flight simulations, X-rebirth is going to be the best thing since freelancer apparently and also 2013

 

Baka awaits for this and C&C Generals 2 for 2013 so far

 

hate to break it down to you Baka (as you are one of my favorite in the forum ) but Generals 2 is scrapped into C&C free to play fiasco no more Generals 2 damn you EA!

 

Doesn't matter to Baka as long as Baka can play Generals again

Though Baka is definitely getting CoH2 as long as they didn't do anything to butcher it like how C&C destroyed Tiberium Twilight

 

Don't worry about it, according to veteran players who got to try their gameplay demo, it's the same ol' gameplay (base buildings, unit training, etc.), but with new and improved visuals and tactics.

I really want to play it already, but I honestly have so many games to play until then that I'm not worrying too much about it

Yeah, that's most of the gamers' population, we have attention spans of the average fruit fly

 

Baka, I should challenge you to a few rounds of C&C Generals Zero Hour... I like to lose quickly.

 

I can get along with that challenge to lose quicker

FINALLY, a gameplay trailer. Although I'm finding it hard to figure out how to manage resources and control your units. Looks more like a marketing video with excerpts from gameplay. Either way looks pretty awesome.

What happens to THQ and Company of Heroes if they default on their March 2013 payment to Wells Fargo?

Hopefully they can roundup the funds or release the game before March.

 

True. Or at worse case, leave the game to someone with capable hands. You know it will need continued patch support for a while. Too bad to see good companies like this struggle or go down.

If the game is near completion you would think they would want to release it to help gain funds to pay off the debt.

 

They'll probably sell off Relic and the related IPs to whoever gives them a good offer. Them and Volition are probably the only thing of value for THQ. The potential buyer might be especially enticed if some agreement could be made with Games Workshop for Relic to continue make DoW games too.

The only problem I have with this games, is that both sides talk in English. Should have voiced Soviets and ze GErmanz accordingly.

 

People have already posted impressions from alpha gameplay. By most accounts, Its very similar to the original in these terms. They added the "cold" mechanics (I am kinda mixed of TBH) plus true sight etc.

They wouldn't change the base gameplay too dramatically.
