I'm looking forward to buying a new laptop and the Compaq V6000 (Go 6150 integrated GPU) caught my eye. Would the notebook be able to play Indigo Prophecy, Dreamfall, and Sims 2 at native res?
Also, would the ATI X1250 make it to the successor to the V6000? Might be worth the wait from the positive news I've been hearing about the 690G chipset.

Go 6150 barely runs anything at native res, but it'll play the games you listed, likely at 800x600.

So Go 6150 owners don't play Sims 2 I take it?

I'm sure they play it, and it will probably run pretty well, but not at native res. To be honest, playing outside of native res isn't as big of a deal as a lot of people like to make it. Pulp wrote a great article: " The GeForce is Strong In This One" that will give you a good sense of what to expect from the 6150.

Thanks notebook_ftw, already read the article. Still though, I'm not sure how Sims 2 would fare on the GPU. My old (or should I say former) Sony A-series laptop came with a Radeon Mobility 9100 64MB and it played the game perfectly at 1280x800. Sorry to sound like a noob, but is that supposed to be considerably faster than the 6150?

No, it's not. Running at native res though, might mean turning most other options off....Again, running at non native res is no big deal. I run at 800x800 on my laptop alot of the time so I can turn up other details or save a few fps for when it matters. Although obviously frames aren't a huge issue in Sims 2...but you know what I mean.

Awesome laptops Notebook Evangelist
yeah should play alright on low resolution only and low settings

Oh please, people. Come on, ha ha.....
Even my 5-year old desktop can run Sims 2 with acceptable frame rate at 800x600. However, loading time is not so so...
Here's the specification: P4 2.0Ghz, 512MB RAM, 32MB of Integrated Intel Extreme Graphic Card (can you believe it ?)
Anyway, I'm not saying that I'm a big Sims fan, it's kinda boring, you know, plus, it's for girls, you know... I guess it's a good game if you wanna get touch with your sensitive girly side.
