Hi,
I got a notebook with the nvidia quadro 140m (which is business card between a 8400 gs and 8400 gt) and was wondering about how it would compare to the older 7900 gt graphics card, which I would be quite satisfied with. Should I expect the same performance with all the latest updates, even though it is 128 vs 256?

a desktop 7900 gt?
unfortunately the 140m is quite a bit slower than the 7900 gt.
edit:
you can expect the 8400m gs to play games at low resolutions and low/medium settings, while maintaining good framerates. -
Expect it to perform somewhere between the lines of a Go 7400 and a Go 7600. Sorry, not a 7900GT.

the go 7600 performs about as well as a desktop 6600 gt, for comparison. maybe somewhat better. just a general idea.

so it renders frames in some sort of negative alternate reality?
thats actually pretty sweet that something could be 150-200% slower than something else.
I always thought that you could only be 100% slower than something else, but i never even considered the possibility that you could just go backwards!
I'll assume you meant half as fast
learn percentages! how are we surviving as a society when no one knows percentages?!?!
i am scared. -
Compare 8400 gs/gt to 7900 gt
