Im trying to figure out the best way to compare Vid cards.
So far the easiest thing for me to figure out has been this list...

Comparison of Laptop Graphics Cards - Notebookcheck.net Tech

Is this list pretty trustworthy when trying to figure out what card is better? Is it safe to say that the higher the vidcard on the list the better? would the highest Class 2 vid card ever be better than a low ranking class 1?

Im going to be getting a laptop and i would like to be within the 850-950 range.. but i could reluctantly spring up to 1100 if the vid card would be substantially better.

The reason i chose the two cards in the title is because they are offered in the XPS 17 and the DV7 HP laptops in that price range after coupons.

Some cards that performs better are listed lower than the 555m and for that reason alone, the list can't be completely trusted. The only way is to research and look at benchmarks around these forums. FYI the 3dmark11 score for the 555m is actually overclocked and should be lower.
