    Hello Folks,

Hey i have a big problem with my laptop. Whenever i start to play games on it the screen starts to get all glitchy and stuff. This only happens

while i am playing video games. I hope these pics below will give you a better idea of what im talking about. Also take note of how it effects

the desktop, the glitch effect isn't limited to the game itself. Even after ending the game the effects from it are still present. In fact

scrolling/dragging things seem to make it worse. Some times it gets so bad that i can't even read what is on the screen, thus leaving me with no

choice but to restart my computer. WHenever i restart my laptop the glitch problem goes away but then returns when i start up a new game.

Within the pictures is a picture that will give you an idea of my computers specs, also here is a link that will give you a better idea of the

    computer itself.

I pretty much have no idea of what to do so any advice would be much appreciated......

    THankz in advance....

    looks like overheating problem

    did you OC the card?

    did you check/clean the fan?

did you block the fan port in any way?

i kind of ran a test on it today. I played a game from a dead cold start up. What kind of surprised me was that it didn't glitch up at the part that it usual did but then soon enough it started to glitch up, and to top it off the system wasn't even hot (but it did take a while to glitch up as compared to before). It was cold-warm at the time of the glitch, but it was getting a little hotter though. I stopped after about 5-10 minutes or so and by the time i stopped my system was already screwed (needing the restart) and the laptop was warm (not hot).

I bought this used quite recently and haven't checked/cleaned the fan, but i will check on that later today. Also, this time i was playing it on my lap in a way that made sure that nothing was interfering with the fan....

My Radeon 9600 did stuff like that just before it died. You need to clean it out, and make sure the heatsink is on correctly, and that it's not overclocked. If you got it used, the previous owner could have overclocked it without telling you. Did you reinstall Windows when you got it?

supposedly he reinstalled it. It looked fresh when i received it. By the way do you have a website address that will direct me on cleaning the heatsink?
