Made this autoexec for Crysis 2 based on one I found at crymod. Visuals are past the extreme preset with consistent framerates. This has resolved the stuttering issues for me and should for everyone else too. It has EdgeAA and PostMSAA enabled and FSAA off for optimum performance and also getting rid of jaggies. Unzip and put it in you Crysis 2 folder. You don't have to delete system.cfg. Also it skips intros straight to login but cutscenes will not be skipped. Enjoy :)

How's the framerate performance compared to...say... all medium settings? (the middle of the three choices in graphics setting, i think its called hardcore but that might be the higher setting)

With the new patch the settings have changed. 4 presets now low, medium, high and extreme. This has better visuals than Extreme but performs between High and Extreme. The main reason is to get rid of stutter that some computers have.

I don't believe it. Reading from what Crytek have said and what other who seem to be veterans with CryEngine 2, Extreme already has maxed out the settings.

Extending view distance, the GI and texture is alread maxed for DX9. DX11 is not available currently.

So no I think your claims are hogwash. We currently do not have access to the game and without the sandbox editor, without DX11 and x64 support, true modding and config editing isn't possible. Currently the Extreme settings are maxed out for now. Saying it's beyond Extreme is either ignorance or a lie.

Believe what you want. Everyone has their own opinions :) Looks way better than extreme to me. Could be a placebo maybe not, the link from where I got it was here:

I took the second release (third had weird shadows for me) and optimized it by adding post AA and getting rid of FSAA.

I know where you got it and the source is even more reason for ignorance and hogwash. And you'll notice that the thread is also full of skeptics and others stating what I have said also.

It's KillerSneak and he is well known, and has made a terrible reputation for himself over the years. He's been ridiculed in just about every forum he's posted at, most notably Rage3D and Guru3D and others like them.

Oh well alright thanks for the info. Didn't know KillerSneaks rep anyways. May post a new one just for AA tweaking etc.
