I'm wondering: what's a good contrast ratio? I'm looking at an external monitor and I'd really like something with good colours and good brightness/contrast etc.

The one I am leaning towards is an AG Neovo (I have experience of the brand and they are great in my opinion), 1440*900 19" widescreen with contrast ratio of 850:1.

    Sounds good? It's £130.

850:1 should be good enough. have you had a look? because that will soon tell you if its up to your standards, because i think mine are a little low.

i currently have an acer that is 600:1 and its pretty good. 850:1 should be plenty good.

    10:1????? i don't think so.
