Coolest Driver

Hey, I have a m1530 and the GPU overheats and causes the system to shut down. I have spent a long time researching and I think that It's a faulty GPU (lots of m1530s seem to have this problem). I cant have a dell repair guy come fix it because i'm on a military base in spain, so i need some other way to make it cooler and i know that the drivers have a huge impact on this. What drivers run the coolest?
I have the 180.43 and it seems to run well on farcry 2 (it hits 110 C but dosnt shut down) but when i try to play oblivion, it hits 120 C and turns off, so if anybody knows the coolest running drivers for a 256mb 8600m gt then could you please respond? thanks in advance.
Also, i have a notebook cooler but my laptop fan dosnt seem to be running on high, is there a program that can control the m1530 fan speed? will i8fangui work?

why dont u try drivers from Dell's website?
Even if it doesnot work for you, try cleaning the dust and other stuff stuck in ur GPU and CPU fan.
I had overheatin problem once,as soon as I cleaned it , it was just fine.

 

I Run farcry2 and the highest its gotten is 81C...
And I live in Honduras, which is usually HOT.

use the Dell drivers, those are the ones I'm currently using.
Try to clean the dust yes,
but if it doesnt "heal" the problem, call Dell, they'll send a tech to wherever you are.

I bought my laptop in the USA and live here in Honduras, even so, they sent Dell techs from a local 3rd party Dell autorized distribuitor/repair center, and replaced my motherboard, reappled thermal paste/grease/pads, and even changd the heatsink/fan..

Remember that not only the GPU might overheat, but also the CPU, leading to downthrottling.
GPU overheating = shuts down PC.

 

thanks, I'll try dell's drivers. i already checked the fans and called dell when it first started having the problem but i the guy said that there wasnt a dell guy here. I'll try talking to someone else and see if they have a different opinion. did dell get a shipment of faulty 8600s? it seem s like a lot of people are having them overheat and have to get them replaced.

The 1st 8600m's that were shipped from nvidia or w/e... came faulty, now with the new revisions of motherboards/gpu's and heatsink/fans you shouldnt have a problem...
