I want something better than what i've got. I have to put some games on the lowest settings for it to play smoothly.

Could I upgrade? or would it be too complicated?

    Laptop details in signature.

    Thx

Check if your video card is a MXM card or not. If it's MXM then you may have some internal options.

If not then we find that an Asus X59SL has an expresscard slot. So consider a US$300 GTX460-768MB DIY ViDock. You'd be gaming on an external LCD.

Asus has their own inverted version of MXM so getting a card is a bit tougher.

In general, laptop graphics cards (even if they are dedicated GPUs) cannot be upgraded. You can contact Asus to see if that model supports upgradeable GPUs, otherwise really the only option you have to get better graphics is a DIY ViDock that nando4 mentioned.

It's not as simple as knowing the form factor though ;) There are other things that limit whether or not you can upgrade, most notably the cooling of the laptop.
