    I have a dell Inspiron 1525 (2 GB RAM, C2D 2.0 GHZ, X1300)

I didn't buy this laptop for gaming it figures. However the only game I am playing and never even thought it won't run smooth is counter strike 1.6

On my laptop it runs at 20-50 FPS running the native screen resolution. This looks ridiculous to me. Come on it's almost a 10 year old game  shouldn't I be getting the well deserved 100 FPS?

I was looking on my videocard settings when Counter strike was running in the background (alt tabbed) at this is what it showed. [IMG]

could it be that it isn't properly set or something? Any feedback would be appreciated. I know that there's a dedicated section for x1300 but the last post is months ago and in my personal opinion searching through threads is more frustrating that searching through topics.
    Thank you.

25-50?? I got that on a computer with 500 MHz, 512 RAM, and 4MB integrated graphics - lowest settings.

Did you see if power saver mode is on or something?

    Don't you mean x3100?

Make sure your power settings are set on a high speed mode (I think they have that in XP?)

What settings are you using? Are they low? Max?

If you have them on high, don't expect much more performance. Otherwise, there is some issue we might need to address, newer drivers maybe?

Sorry, yes of course I meant X3100.
Sorry for the screen shot as well here is the larger one along with 2 more if they may help. 1280x800 is the native screen resolution.
The drivers are the latest. I didn't see any High/Low settings in the game only the resolution along with the color depth. Which make no difference if changed.

Hmm, i see you are using steam, that kills the fps (my ati x1300 only gets 71fps)
try changing the renderer to Open GL to see if that helps

I agree iwth changing it to OpenGL - CS defaults to Software Rendering normally.

What about 16bit mode on the graphics, that should give a large boost

no boost on 16bit - not at all. Am I sure the videocard its using all its power (memory etc)?
