Very interesting. Are you on a Local Area Network or just your broadband internet?
If you can't see the "Find Servers" then reinstall the game. Yeah, I know it's a pain, but whenever something goes wrong with a game that's normally the first thing I do before I try anything else.

If your using a firewall, either the one built in windows, router firewall or other software firewall it is almost impossible to create a LAN game accessible to other people, other people will not be able to see your games. (Even when software firewalls are manually turned off, they have certain protocols running at all times that block accesibility).

However you can join LAN games that are made by someone without these firewalls.

That is why most LAN games are unsuccessful and LANcenters use their own servers for their customers.

Also, are you just connecting the ethernet cable from one computer to another? Because that does not work, they must be connected to the same network and not solely each other (at least I thought I read somthing about that)

I suggest you find a private server that belongs to a friend of yours and just leech off of that.

well, if you are running from a router, the router should give each machine an ip, but if it is a switch, you have to specify an ip in windows. then you can try a ping or tracert to the address. yeah, like they said, you must have no firewall running. i was at a lan some time ago, and it took us two hours to figure out it was those two problems. that was precious Unreal Tournament time...
