Hey guys, ive got an E1505 with a 15.1 widescreen and x1400.
I just installed CS Source, and when i goto video options there are 2 aspect ratios for the widescreen.... which one do i choose? 16:9 or 16:10 ... whats the difference and what will give me better performance?

Also, and sorry to throw this in here, but figured i ask before i start another thread. I have outpost firewall, and have both Steam and HL2 in my trusted applications... but i cant ever seem to connect to a server unless i completely shut down outpost firewall? What else do i need to do to allow it? i get an "Ethernet Attack" host tampers its IP addresses message pop up when i clikc on join server to update the list.

    Thank in advance guys!

If you want to use the native resolution of your widescreen display, put it on 16:10 and the widescreen resolutions will become available.

Your sig shows a normal screen for your laptop so 4:3 is fine for you. For the widescreen laptops 16:10 is the one to pick.

his sig only says xga so thats what i'm basing that on. Don't know if inspiron 6400 are only widescreens but if it was he would have put wxga.

The 6400s are 16:10 widescreens. You can play the game with a 4:3 resolution, but it will either put black bars on the sides or will stretch the picture to fill the screen. Change to a 16:10 resolution to make the picture look cleaner.

M$, try validating your CSS files, right click on it in the Games tab, go to properties, it's under one of the menus.

Even though you could run 16:9, you will most likely loose your LCD's native res at that aspect ratio. If your not going to run native res, it usually doesn't look good. I have to run 1280x800 on my 1680x1050 in CoD4 MP just to maintain good avg FPS and the stretchness looks terrible.
