Hey, I have a macbook 2.0 ghz with a x3100 integrated graphics. I am using Vista Ultimate and when I tried CS 1.6, it didn't look that great. Is there any way to make it look better? Like doing dxlevel 8 or something like that??

The Steam engine has a large community of people who offer mods (ie, higher res textures, sounds, etc). I have used them in the past on HL2 with a Radeon 9100 IGP (they don't make GPUs like they used to). Use Google for the details.

Sorry, I noticed that I didn't answer your question. Is CSS running at its automatic video settings? (go to options>video>advanced settings)

If it is then there is not much that you can do, apart from tweaking Vista a bit or increasing the settings and taking a performance hit. According to many forum members Intel's drivers are quite poor; but like I said you could search around for higher resolution texture mods (or sound packages)...

bc135, he is not running CSS, he is running the original Counter-Strike (Not Source Engine).

Your computer should be able to handle the game very easily Aaro and at very high settings (if you are indeed using 1.6).

Just open up the options by pressing the esc button, click on settings (or options), find the video tab or button and press it. Then proceed to tweak settings higher.

Also, are you a CS player from the past or did you just purchase it? CS is an older game, so it isn't going to look very impressive compared to Counter Strike: Source or any other modern FPS.

You're right, he is running 1.6.

@OP: Thats as good as it gets. 1.6 is an old game.
