I am SO pumped for this!

I still play CS from time to time, but back in its prime it completely took over my life (played since the beta!).

Who needs COD or BF when you have counter strike!

Matchmaking? If I am able to set up a team with my friends and play randoms, then I will pick up the new CS. I know PC gamers love server lists and stuff, but I prefer matchmaking because it's easier to own noobies while being on the same team as your buds :p

To me... it looks bad. I don't know. Don't hate me. Looks like a sidestep of CS:S without much improvement. If it was a few dollars, maybe.

Wow, in the preview pretty much used all the mods to put in my old cs 1.6 and css servers back in the day. Even though I used a simple custom buy menu and my molotov setting does a bit more than a deterrent.

The new dust map seems like a port of an older modified version I had in rotation as well.

Oh well, the plus side, cross platform play. (If I understood it right, either it means they can play each other or just available on console) I wonder how this is going to work without PC dominating. Maybe auto aim assist? :p

Awesome!! i have always loved CS even since the days of 1.3, still play Source, it actually takes some skills to play compared to games like CoD, there is a reason CS is the number one FPS for all those years.

I think it looks a lot more detailed than source, the maps look cool, i'm hyped for this one, BRING IT ON!

So they should, this game shouldn't be played with anything less, it takes skill to be successful at it.

When I heard about CS:GO begi multiplatform, I thought they just meant PS3's could play. So apprently it can acually be PC vs PS3. Bad idea.

Microsoft tried that a little while ago and quit when even the best 360 players got destroyed by pretty average PC gamers.

Aside from the cross platform play I think it looks good though. Hopefully they do leave us the option of picking a map from a server list though instead of being forced to play what you're given. Well... If there isn't then I'm pretty sure there will be a mod for it soon enough.

I see this as the equivalent to CS: Condition Zero. Just another base remake with a few gfx tweaks and etc...

I'm a big fan of CS but will probably skip it; just like I skipped CS:CZ. I still have CS:S and 1.6 to keep me busy.

flashbangs are 1/2 of what cs is about.

Personally I can't stand tf2, there's not a whole lot of reliance on solo skill. It gets boring after a couple of minutes because it doesn't matter if you're really good, but if the rest of your team sucks you lose. 'However, in CS 1 good player can wipe out a whole team.

You should look into competitive TF2. It's quite a different game from your normal pub TF2. It's still about teamwork, but it really highlights individual strengths.

The F2P players are just ruining everything. I try to play and help the team, they go and build sentries in the spawn.

I have to say that the graphics area dissapointment to me, it feels like they side stepped rather than improve the game.
From watching the preview it looks like a game from 90's, hoping it will look different on high end rig.

I agree that F2P n00bs are spamming up the servers. I was playing lakeside and one engie went and built his nest in the little sniper hovel by the exit to the tunnel.

Then there's the fact that no one plays medic. It's annoying because it's such a big oversight but it means that as soon as I go medic we pretty much win since I seem to be the only one on the map with initiative.

Then there are times when I'm playing a koth map and we've captured the point. Random idiots then decide to rush off the point towards enemy spawn to try and get kills for themselves. I warn them that we'll get flanked if they do that but they never listen. Then we lose the round. Then I rage at their stupidity.

As for CS grenades, I know they're pretty much half the game, but I really don't think they improve things as far as gameplay is concerned. People just spam them round corners. At least there isn't martyrdom though...

On the flip side, new Counter-Strike players like me can be easily discouraged by the insane learning curve and time spent spectating the match instead of actually playing. Meanwhile, TF2 makes it so that even if you end the match with a negative k/d ratio, you can still contribute to your team's success because of the reliance on teamwork and support roles. If I hope into a pub match in CS:S, people aren't going to work together because they're not forced to. In both games, competitive matches feature much more reliance on team work than pub games.

I don't mind F2P players...we were all pretty dumb when we first started playing, and can you imagine what it must be like now for new players, with all the new maps, game modes, items, weapons, hats, trading, crafting and stuff that didn't even exist when we first started?

Rather than get mad, I try to help them out when I can. If I see an engineer building in a downright stupid place, I'll let him know that his sentry isn't going to get any kills or that his teleporter/dispenser aren't going to help the team at all. Granted, some people are just beyond help, but hey, that's their loss. :p

If you really want to avoid F2P players altogether, though, there is a server plugin that preemptively bans any F2P accounts from joining. Personally, I'm not a fan of it; I think it's unfair to keep free players from playing the game, but it's an option for you if you really can't stand playing with them.

I have been playing Cs and CSS since the birth. Most players -- semi-pro to Pro players do no consider this game at all. cs 1.6 holds the thrown. Been playing CSS semi-pro for some time now, this new CS game wont last more than 6 months.

I play for vVv pro gaming community and no one is considering this.

I try and give advice (which is a little limited since I don't have a headset) but they never listen.

With the engie thing, he was getting a few kills but it was in no way beneficial to the team. I usually try and tell people things like this but quie often they never take note. That is why I hate the new F2P players. Don't get me wrong, some of them have intelligence but the majority seem to be completely hopeless from what I've seen.

So it looks like it's just basically CSS for Pr0nStation 3.
Valve also should consider this for their next CS installment after GO

Yes it is! I think it's the L4D2 variant. Take a look at the chopper model and light/object interaction. Same as Dead Center level. Also the AK reload. :)
