Intel graphic cards can barely run games, probably the highest you can run is Counter Strike 1.6

Half life basicly has the same weight on your laptop as Cs 1.6.

So yes you run that game easily.

If you change CS:S to DirectX 7 mode, it would be playable on the 950.

That's what I did on my school laptop but it only ran 5 fps anywhere but directly at a wall, which was a surprising 60 fps

No way, the Intel GMA 950 CANNOT run CS:S, haven't tried it in DX7. You can run these games though:

    COD 1
    Battlefield 1942 AND Vietnam
    Half Life 1
    Half Life 2
Doom 3 (pretty bad framerates though, just turn off shadows)
    War Rock
    Day of Defeat
    HL2 Deathmatch
    Unreal Tournament
    Unreal Tournament 2004
Unreal Tournament ( Single Player One Forgot what it was called)

Basically, anything Pre- 2004 you should be able to run okay, at Low-Medium Settings.

I have on my friend's Dell Inspiron e1405 with Intel Core Duo 1.60ghz and Intel GMA 950.
I ran UT2004 at maxed out settings and it ran smooth like a baby.

Also, the Intel GMA 950 is able to handle HL2 at medium settings quite well, so I don't see why CS:S cannot run on the Intel GMA 950.

If you could upgrade the RAM to 1gb, it should run quite fine.
The Intel GMA 950 is largely underrated as I have managed to run games better on the Intel GMA 950 than on my Geforce FX5500.

yeah but the fx5500 (overclocked 5200) is one of the worst cards in history.

Yep i've got geforce fx5500. Lets just say don't try to play BF2 on it cuz even under low its terrible. BF1942 is great all settings on high. Hopefully i'll beable to pull it off with a GMA 950.

I agree. It was pretty much a waste to have spent $70 on this card, but then it was the best PCI card I could get at that time.
Sadly, HP desktops only came with PCI slots :(
