Couple questions for you guys...

1. I love farcry but am growing old of it..i read something about "mods" or an expansion pack or the such? Any info on what this is and where to get?

2. I have my laptop set to go into standby mode after 45min.it probably goes into standby mode at least 5 times a day (as i come and go)..is this bad to have it standing by and booting back so many times a day? Would it be better to just leave it on?

3. Loking for a new game...FPS..i recently was foolish enough to impulse but Rainbow six vegas and it blows...I was thinking butchers bay, or STALKER (mixed reviews)...any suggestions

if you could leave your laptop plugged in all day, and keep it on a hard surface that lets air flow, i'd say just leave it on. maybe turn it off when you're not using it for a long time.

Rainbow 6 Vegas is minblowingly brilliant.

there's an expansion pack for far cry and it's called the MATTO 4 mod, and it can be downloaded for free, so if you liked far cry, then go ahead and download this one, as it's even better than far cry
as for your third question, i'd say get riddick, i played both, and think riddick is so much better than stalker, though stalker's pretty good, but the game feels unfinished, and riddick has better graphics and will run much better on your rig, so go for the riddick game

I found and downloaded/installed the MATTO 4 mod and then when i go to double click the "Paly MATTO 4" icon nothing happens...i also tried to insert the disk and choose "mods" from the menu screen and the MATTO mod is not there in the list

Should i just uninstall it and try to download again? Anyone have a legit good site? Any help? Thanks

 

I, like you I'm guessing, love Far Cry, so have a look at "The Delta Sector" mod. I've had a quick glance at screenshots of this and been checking general development on it, and vast amounts of detail seem to have gone into it and it looks absolutely stunning! It's unreleased at the moment, however it is due out in summer (check this post: http://www.crymod.com/thread.php?postid=55096#post55096 ) so don't hide your copy of Far Cry yet! I mean just look at the screenshots:

Do you have all the latest patches installed for Far Cry?

 

well, simply extract the matto4 file to C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Crytek\Far Cry\Mods and then start far cry and go to the mod screen, highlight the matto4 mod and click load mod, and it will work
