    Hey,
i realized that a decent gaming laptop is pretty expesive, so I gave up the idea.

My friend as a Dell Inspiron 15R, with a Intel HD card (which sucks for gaming) but can still run some games smoothly. It can run The Sims 3 pretty well, and it could run Portal 2 really smoothly. It has a 2,53 Ghz processor and 3G of RAM.

Since such a regular pc can fulfill a casual gamers needs, would this laptop, that has much better specs to me (but the same crappy graphic card), run some games?
I dont mind at all playing on low settings, I just want to be able to play the Sims 3 and modern MMORPGs (i will be playing Guild wars 2 when it comes out).
Here is the laptop in question: STAPLES | BUREAU EN GROS

    Thank you!
I am just a casual gamer that is desperate for a cheap laptop!!

    Get this one instead:
    STAPLES | BUREAU EN GROS

It can handle all current games on medium setting (some high).

The one you linked is crap in comparison :p

For only 20$ more, get the Asus and you will not regret it.

Yes ASUS is one of the top brands. I own two ASUS laptops, both are still running no problem and my next will most likely be an ASUS.

You can always find people who are unhappy with any brand. But from 3rd party studies, by two different companies that sell warranties for laptops and provide laptop repair service, both said Asus were the most reliable over a 3 year period 2 years running now. Beating Apple and Sony and Dell. HP actually I think came in last for reliability.

ASUS is the best brand if you ask me. I have owned HPs, Acer, Toshibas... And ASUS did it's job best off all.
