Just wondering how to get round the fact that my laptop seems to crash whatever modded driver I use when I put the thing to sleep (it will not respond to the press of the power button and still seems to be running, so I have to hold down the power and shut it down "unexpectedly"). Can anyone give me any drivers that do not do this, or any workarounds? Any help much appreciated!

mines 3508. Thanks for the help mate, but for some some reason I can't flash it, before it starts the process, it says 'access is denied: error code 5', despite the fact that I am the sole user and administrator of the computer!

Make sure to run BIOS Flash utility as administrator :D
(Right click on flash utility & select run as administrator)

Damn it was just a one off. Seems to be fine the first time I put it to sleep and then goes back to not sleeping when I close it the next time. Even after I re installed the default drivers....any idea how to fix this?

Yea that was previously installed. Discovered a very odd fact. Did cleanest install of base driver I've ever done (uninstall, safe mode, driver cleaner, numerous reboots) and is fine, but here's the problem! (which makes me think it's been like this the whole time). It only messes up (ie:does not fully sleep and remains 'on' with blank monitor and has to be forcefully turned off) when I have the internet connected (university LAN cable in). I sleep it without cable in, it's fine. I sleep it with cable in, it messes up. I put cable in, browse internet, then take cable out and sleep it, and it's fine! It seems it's obviously the internet stopping it from sleeping
