ok.. So... I have been waiting to play Assassns creed since long before it came out for the 360 or ps3. While I have neither system.. I felt sure it would come out for the comp.... It did.

now.. Way before it was offically released for the comp.. there were leaked cracks abounding. I managed to get one. wanting to "test drive" the game to see if it would actually be worth playing. (after all the hype and then cries of dissappointment I was very wary about spending 50$ on a game) Well. when loading it to my computer.. it get to 65% and then I get a blue screen of death.

I find this rather bizzarre.. I have two brothers. one with a 'monster' for a comp that eats souls for power. And then another brother with a comp signfigantly weaker then mine. I have an nc8430 with 2 gigs of ram windows sp2 2.16 ghz dual core and ati mobility x1600.

The brother with the weaker comp (single core 2 ghz 1 gig of ram and a 6800 gtx nvidia) manages to get it to play on his comp..

So I am wondering why I am getting the blue screen of death. Honestly I would love to buy the game but, I would really rather make sure its gunna play on my comp first..

RELOADED's initial release was buggy, period, crashed for a lot of people in Jerusalem, etc. The repack doesn't suffer from the same issues, it all works. I think that's what you were referring to?

Anyway, Assassin's Creed retail runs without issue on all systems except a select few people who have 8800 GTS cards.

But with your GPU you're looking at a low resolution with quite a few settings on low-medium also.

I did have RELOADED's initial release however, mine crashed while loading the actual game. When I hit play it would startloading the game.. get to a certain percent.. then crash. I realize I can't play it in full glory like I want to :( but, it would be nice to be able to play it.. especially if I can at least manage to get the gameplay to be smooth....

I would download the repack however, I am behind a no torrent zone atm.

Could be a driver problem, I would suggest at least trying a different driver since certain ones can cause BSODs, you can get the latest one for your card here http://ati.amd.com/support/driver.html

    Err, gray area.
Buy the game, your system will support it just fine.
y nx9420 with ati x1600 and 1.66 Core Duo can play it, granted at minimum details.
