from what i read it will be standalone game based on brand new engine that should look awesome. for me far cry was much better than hl2/doom3 when they came out and i am looking forward for this one. story line should be interesting too as you first fight humans than aliens invade and freeze the whole islands. however that will be a slow realtime process what i havent seen in games yet. just please dont tell me i its gonna by out in two years or so. i hope late 2006.

The story line sounds awesome. set in the future. If this is an improved engine, even better than FarCry its gonna Rock! FarCry was excellent. I cant wait for something thats gonna be Better than FarCry. also... it said somewhere about being the first game to utilize DX10?? I was gonna post the link but I cant find it this moment.

I hope they stick to the release date Q4 06.

The story is not really that furutistic. Something about aliens in the pacific and the US and china try to get rid of them before they take over the world...
It is possible that the new engine uses DX10, since it will be officially released with vista.

I wonder why there isnt more of a buzz about this.
FarCry is an incredible game and you would think the
anticipation of Crysis would be as greater.
there must be a silent riot going on. ;)

There is a Tech Demo released that is available for download at incrisis.com if anyone want to check it out. Its basically a trailer. no sound. and it shows the above screenshots in action. I recommend taking the time to check it out. LINK to Crysis Trailer
