Just downloaded this single player custom made crysis map and had ALOT of fun with it. Played for 3 hours and still only about half way lol!

    http://www.map-factory.org/crysis/single-player/the-resort-1165

extract the winrar to crytek/game/levels, then run crysis pull down box and enter "con_restricted 0" then enter then put in "map TheResort" then enter (without the "")

Great story, great graphics, lots of AI so pretty hard especially at beginning when you can't use some of your suit modes due to suit damage taken at intro.

Plays very smoothly indeed on my rubbish 8600M GT DDR2 OC at 570/1450/540 and Q9650 it was perfect for me at 1024x768 with everything on maximum! That doesn't happen often!

Just thought I would bring this to the attention of crysis fans that haven't discovered this yet. It is ! :D

yeah it is fantastic, has cutscenes with a proper story unlike many maps. It is also really original as well as you will see :p
Maybe we could make this thread into a suggestion box for the best single player crysis maps!

There is a cool mod for Crysis called City Assault IIRC. It's got custom made weapons just for the mod. It's very difficult though, but very well made.

Lol wow cheers for the rep peeps. It is alot of fun. I just wish I had a high end card I can imagine a single 8800M GTX would trash it at a high resolution in dx 10! I won't even be able to get my DDR3 8600M GT back from asus after they downgraded me to a DDR2 as they say its not "available" :(

yea..."not available" what a heap of steaming poo....you belive them? how can they be allowed to downgrade your card to DDR2 if your stock one was DDR3.....this is a warranty cheat and I think you should fight for DDR3 one

I definitely am fighting for it but it seems discontinued. Not surprising considering they took 2 months to repair it then another 6 weeks afterwards to tell me they can't give me the same card back. Now I am demanding either a 9600M GT,9650M GT, GT130M or ATI 4650/70 card. Damn asus

Wow, amazing a thread was made just for one custom level of this game. I'm jealous because I didn't make it first. :)

But it deserves one because I did play the level a couple of months ago and it is one of the best custom Crysis maps I have played. My only complaint was it had some low framerates about 1/3 of the time on my desktop with a Core i7 and GTX 285 on very high settings at 1680x1050. So I wonder how you ran it smoothly King of Interns on your laptop?

It is the only map where I have encountered slowdown. I dunno if it was because the map was so large and detailed or if it was unoptimized.

I also love the music in that game, I believe the music was ripped from other videogames, I remember hearing one from The Witcher. Anyone have a full list of songs that were played in the level?

Really you had slow downs at that reso? I guess at 1024x768 my lovely quad can help out nicely. I am still playing it lol. Nearly at the top of the central mountain now but I didn't stop to check out the caves. Will have to play it through again to do that :p

I can tell already this is a great map, but I have 2 gripes which may make me give up on it. One is the poor performance I get when compared to the main campaign, I don't know what it is but when during combat and when zooming with the precision rifle it just doesn't like it and lags up. Second is the poor English skills, theres no mistakes or bad puctuation, it is just written poorly.

Lol that is true. Still at least it is understandable :) Otherwise it is great. If it lags up on zoom, simply tag the enemies with your binos then kill them hand to hand. It is more fun that way anyways and you can take out several at once if you chuck them at each other :p

ps. There is nothing better than grabbing an enemy by the scruff of the neck and punching him off a cliff..muhaha

Cool map but got confuse at the end. Does this level ends when you get to the shark next to the boat? Also, does anyone have any other suggestions for new maps where I can just mess around, like fly a helicopter or that space ship thing in the single player campaign?

The very sucky thing about Warhead is that you cannot use the Sandbox editor packaged in Crysis to edit any of the levels, cannot play custom levels and see what they look like in the more optimized engine.

I am wondering if it is because of the stupid Securom DRM in Warhead? Crysis lacks it.

I know that for Batman: Arkham Asylum, there are mods for the demo but not for the full game because of the darn Securom.

Damn you Sony for creating it.

I would have downloaded it earlier, but I was at school, and the wireless was acting up today there. :( I really would have liked to download it there. They have a much better download than my home one.

I'll give it a go soon.

Edit: Just played a part of this, and it seems very nice indeed. Although now Windows 7 is asking me to back up an encryption key now, because the files are encrypted.

Very nice map King Of Interns - + Rep.

    Okay then. :)

Download and unpack/unzip the RAR file. Inside, there will be a whole folder plainly called "TheResort".

Move that folder with all it's contents to C:/Program Files/Electronic Arts/Crytek/Crysis/Game/Levels. Make sure to back up any folders with the same name. Also, the files may be encrypted.

Open Crysis, and when you get to the menu, press the "`" button, on the top left corner of the keyboard. The command console should pop up. If it doesn't then that's an issue you'll have to sort out, there are a few causes for it, my desktop won't pop up but my laptop can for some reason. It's something to do with the keyboard itself.

Type into the command console "con_restricted 0" without the quotation marks, and hit enter. Then type in "map TheResort" without the quotation marks.

You should have your level loaded. Remember, when loading different custom levels, instead of typing TheResort, type in the name of the level's folder.

The music on this map is really really loud and not appropriate for majority of the time. You can't lower the volume through the game options. You will find AI flanking you because you can't hear their footsteps because the music is so loud!

The only solution I found was to open the .pak file with 7zip and delete the music and sound folders.

At least some of the music fits with the map...and I don't think it's a matter of the music being loud, I just think Crysis itself isn't all that loud. Warhead seems to have much stronger and louder sound than the original.

Maybe so, but you can't turn down the music volume. If you increase the volume to hear the footsteps, the music will deafen you. I can barely hear the gunfire over the music.
