LOL.. Well that's another disappointment - Everyone ranted and raved that the patch was gonna enable better graphics options that were 'disabled' because nothing could run it.
Looks like that turned out to be a load of BS.. I figured about as much. -

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately I does not appear that many real changes were made, but I will reserve judgement until I have installed it for myself.
-
Finally. I'll install tonight and run a few bench marks - see what comes out of it.
-
why do you want even better graphics? Thats just being greedy imo. Anyway great news and i heard from their forums that they are already underway in making 2 further patches that will add more tweaks to this amazing game!
-
Bottom line, is it improving performance or not?
-
Can't get patch to finish installing on my Sager NP5791.
I have a purchased retail version of the game, but once the patch gets to the 'copying files' part it tells me it can't find a certain .cab file and maybe my cd-rom isn't working (which it is.). -
I've been waiting for the SLI performance 'fix' myself. Hopefully it will work. *Crosses Fingers*

The Forerunner Notebook Virtuoso
Bottom Line: IN dx9 no difference but I see some imrpovements in dx10 but it still doesn't make it playable at high settings obviously.
-
What improvements do you see in dx 10? Better frame rate?
-
From I've seen most people aren't really getting an improvement in DX9, DX10 is where the improvements are primarily taking place. Of course these are all people with powerful desktops. If anything the patch has made DX10 a little more on par with DX9 performance.
-
I saw no improvement in DX 9 as far as FPS, but I did cease the random freezing that I had on my computer. It also added a motion blur option in graphics, but that might have been there before just never noticed it. Runs really well now on my computer!!!! Yay!

Which settings are you running it at on your m9750?
-
I saw some FPS increase in DX9,but it's not much as i hope
-
I want to see some benchies.

downloaded patch. Gave me an error installing. Asked for DVD, put it in, and gave some error that couldn't find file in a cab file? WTF?

well i just updated my game with the new patch and to be honest ive seen a a significant amount of increase in the frame rates. before i was running on all medium and at 1280 res and used to get smooth gameplay out of it...around 30 fps. but after the patch im running a few things on medium the rest on high and at 1600X900 res and im getting around 30 fps....most probably the sli fix has a major role in performance increase. i tried everything on high and got around 16fps but i didnt like the slow gameplay due to frame rates. but overall im satisfied with the patch.
-
I am running at all medium settings. I get an average of about 32 FPS or so and I play in 1440x900. My system specs are below.
-
Yeah I think the improvements really come with higher end hardware. Since most of us out there are using 8600's and HD2600's there really wont be any improvement. Although I tried playing in DX10 mode last night and the game skipped and jumped all over the place. Turn it back to DX9 and it was smooth again.
I think people were hoping for a miracle patch that would make the game extremely playable on lower end hardware. But I think the goal of the developers is to get playing at Very High more realistic. -
I've to say i'm very satisfied, i got a 8600m gt and the performance at least in dx9 improved a lot (from 11-15 avg fps to 18-25 fps)
-
With what specs, SV?
-
everything medium except:
water, volumetric effects, game effects and postprocessing (those in high)
Res: 1024*640 -
Egads! That's a low framerate. I've sucked it up and decided to play at the lowest resolution. Everything high, shaders medium and low shadows. I've found that enabling shadows practically cuts my fps in half. I figured I'd rather live without shadows and get a constant 35-45fps then have it under 30 and have nice shadows.
