Hey guys, I got my new rig today (it's awesome) except I'm having trouble patching Crysis from retail to 1.2.

I get this error every single time I start the update, it does actually launch and I do see a progress bar but then this error pops up and cancels the whole thing.

Anyone have any ideas? Crysis was working nicely on Very High "30-50fps" until I got a crash and decided to patch to newest. I deleted the patch and downloaded it from another website but same exact thing.

    Any help greatly apprecaited.

did you edit anything in the game files?

    if not try reinstalling crysis
make sure you have admin privlidges to run the installer
did you install the gamespy comrade?

Nope, I just installed it about an hour ago too, didn't touch any game files.

I should probably, I do have admin and yeah, should I un-install gamespy comrade? I left it alone thinking I needed it to play online!

gamespy comrade isn't needed to play online. its just like xfire. you can uninstall it if you want, its not needed.

Fixed the problem, had to repair off the disk.

Now all I need to do is sort out the little blinking artifacts no objects and I'm sorted.

I just installed Crysis and noticed this stupid gamespy spyware was installed too. I just went into add/remove programs on Vista and uninstalled it. Hopefully everything is still working lol

    Thanks for the info.

EDIT: Do I need to keep punkbuster services installed? I noticed it in the list of applications and wondering if its just spyware and can be removed and still allow crysis and my other games to play?
