As expected, few glimpse it doesn't look as good as the first. It's like watching an oversmoothered, overly filtered video.
-
Video looked allright but they showed too little... looks like i'm not getting it.. don't like aliens..
-
really? it looks kinda interesting, but why do all alien attacks have to be in new york.
-
that actually looks nice
-
That was a pretty good video, Can't wait for it's release.
-
That just looked dumb...the aliens look completely different now and why the heck would he be just standing there staring at a piece of trash while everything blows up around him...
-
Now I am interested, because it's in NY.
-
Looks sweet. Not enough gameplay in the video. I can't wait to get it, I just hope my computer can play it.
-
-
And CokCanNinja no worries, I'm sure the developers made the minimum specs at 12GB DDR6 RAM with a Triple Quad core and Tri-Dual 5870's SLI'd in DDR 19 compatible with turbo boost just to have us enthusiasts get 8FPS while overheating our liquid nitrogen evaporative intercooled quad heatsinks while playing outside at the north pole
man am I so stoked...honestly...games a joke....and Im glad they put will smith in a cryo-exo suit and had him pick up trash for the sequel trailer -
-
Im like 100% sure that Im 90% sure that my Pentium D IBM Thinkpad is gonna push this at 45-49 FPS's.....DX11 of course..Il have to keep the AA down to only 4x though
-
If i was to hazard a guess, id say that what you see there is a trailer that wont create unrealistic expactations for consolers. It wouldnt be fair to show the game maxed out running on a high-end rig in 1920x1200 in DX11. Although the game is rumoured to be better optimized and should scale well on mid-end and low-end hardware, those of us with the biggest and the baddest wont be left hanging
-
Guys this is pretty much a short trailer that is either CGI or render using the crytek engine, not actual gameplay. I enjoyed the first crysis very much mainly due to the suit because it felt like I was a superhero, which I think this new game is going towards. Yea New York is over done for being the center of everything.
I am looking forward to this game. -
Looks pretty cool to me, the graphics seem to be lacking for a second Crysis title. But I guess that's because it's coming to consoles.
-
Eh, I wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't DX11. The new nanosuit looks terrible. CryTek is making a big push for sales in Consoles not PC this time around, so be prepared if Crysis 1 looks better still.
-
So when did Crysis become Halo again?
-
SoundOf1HandClapping Was once a Forge
In any case, I'm down for this game. I like sci-fi influenced shooters. -
-
ArmageddonAsh Mangekyo Sharingan
I have to say i liked the trailer, seemed quite good it was a glimpse of the game cant really judge it on gameplay or graphics until a few more videos have been released with high end settings - i for one am looking forward to this
-
-
Give him a Warthog! xD
Looking forward to see it running on GBA.
(Just need to hook up my Subspace generator.) -

780Cinco I have to agree with Sean473, Crysis 2 will be optimized for PS3 and Xbox360 and PC secondary. Your PC should be able to handle it, just looking at the trailer, doesn't look as good as the first IMO. A lot less details, with comparable shader/lighting work.
-
Looks pretty good. As far as I know, the PC version hasn't been demoed yet, but Crytek claims it'll still be on par with the first. So it should look quite a bit better than the console demos.
-
OH SNAP!

Actually looks interesting from the trailer. Too many people complaining tbh..
-
I haven't been keeping up on everything crysis 2 related, though i'm very interested in crysis.
so has anyone seen this vid?

Seeing Prophet in it was cool -
wow I love all the comments like 'oh it looks like crap' 'not as good as the first one' and na im not getting it .
everybody can tell all that from a 2min trailer ???
Im pretty sure it will be better than the first one. New York city scape looks refreshing . Im sick of the jungle stuff as well. -
I look at buildings every day. Been working in the city past few years.
Guess where I don't work or live?
Jungle. I can never get tired of games in the jungle.
Games in the city, I can get bored before even entering, horray, another skyscraper, not like I didn't look at a hundred of them already today.
There are only a few games that have successfully made a console port and run well on PC. Despite my irritations with BC2, DICE created an engine utilizing DX11 and any HD5870M equipped notebook can get 50-60 constant FPS even with explosions with highest details with 32 players running around like crazy.
- Borderlands, Batman, Mass Effect 2 all run great and all have something in common, Unreal 3 Engine.
The rest, they suck so hard. Considering Crytek was incapable of creating a great looking game that runs well. They were incapable of taking advantage of all the tools and ideas in Crysis to create a truly awesome game...
I have little to no faith Crysis 2 will be ported to look great and run well on PC nor do I have faith that this alien moronic premise will create a good game experience.
Also the more I play BC2, the more I feel Frostbite is a better engine than CryTek 2 Engine. The sound is leaps and bounds better than CryTek 2. The destructible environment is much better. Predictably, CryTek focuses on the stupid crap that only provide eye candy like their lighting systems which they constantly post videos on. While DICE created an engine all about gameplay and increasing the enjoyment of playing the game rather than standing around and saying wow, this game looks awesome, but runs like garbage and plays like garbage...
Yeah... -
i don't think going from squids to humanoids is a good idea.
-
SoundOf1HandClapping Was once a Forge
They were already humanoids to begin with. The squids were drones, the humanoids look like the aliens in armored suits.
-
As you can guess I dont live in NY , I have visited once a couple of years ago. Also the crytek guys come from Germany so NY may hold a more romantic setting. Sorry people from NY that you have to play a game in your own city (Im not - boo hoo). I am looking forward to the game and finally getting some closure on the story line - I am intriged see how the aliens moved from the island to mainland USA. Huminoids - squids , who cares , maybe the aliens had a revelation and decided to create huminoids , who knows , who cares. People bagging the game before it even comes out has me stumped - moan , moan - moan , WELL DONT BUY IT. I will.
-
I think the trailer conveyed Crysis 2's most valuable feature over Crysis 1, an actual storyline.
I never really got into Crysis 1 or Crysis Warhead, though I loved Farcry 1.
Now, even though I can only run them at low/mid, I'll probably give both the games a go, just so I can get the little tidbits of STORY in preparation for the second game (WHICH HAS A STORY?!). Even mediocre sci-fi is hard to find in the entertainment industry these days, so I'll take what I can get. -
It´s good they make a new setting, the jungle is very nice in Crysis 1 but if they would have thrown in Jungle into Crysis 2 it would feel like the same game.
Now I have seen some real screenshots from the Xbox 360 version and there were a screen where it were a pine tree forest you are running around in. -
since the aliens come from an island near north korea, shouldn't an invasion of the us be in hawaii or the west coast?
-
As per my predistions, what I have seen so far doesn't look as good as the previous game. That's not to say it's going to be a bad game, just that it doesn't look as nice.
