"Crytek CEO Cevat Yerli has told Develop that there will be little discernable difference between the Xbox 360 and PS3 editions of Crysis 2, though the PC version will push ahead of the pack."

elitist? give me a break. I just said what´s the use to show a comparison between the PC with 8xAA and the console versions. It´s not like the consoles use that much AA anyway. 360 has 4xAA free embedded in it´s XDRAM I think it was.

What I meant it was ridiculous to compare 1920x1080 with 8xAA against the 720p console versions. Everybody knows the PC versions will be ahead, no need to prove it with a crap running video performance wise is it?

Where I have I bragged about my systems? I don´t brag about any system I have. My desktop computer is over 3 years old but guess what I just upgrade parts on it from time to time. The XPS M1730 will last me a good while, only thing holding it back a little is the CPU but that will be an later upgrade when needed. My primiary gaming machine is my desktop, since it got after all the GTX 260 OC.

Besides I optimize my systems all the time.

Yeah, but for the 2005 era (a year before the PS3 came out) the 7800 was the best PC graphics card you could get until the 7900 rolled around. I've heard that part of Sony's reason to go with the G71 based RSX was the needed for a quick solution when they found out using 2 Cell BEs was going to be extremely expensive and graphically inferior. The Cell BE is a wonderful chip, don't get me wrong, but nothing can render like a full on dedicated GPU. I'm sure this issue only added to the amount of time Sony needed to get the PS3 ready for release.

Hmm think rorschach was right, I see a lot of complaining but still no contributing to the thread. Elitist might be a bit much but you seem to do nothing but troll here.

Well, I think giving an opinion with some background reasoning counts as a contribution, don't you think?

Not really when its only nitpicking at a portion of a comparison video. He still avoids anything about the game still looking way better on pc even at a lower resolution. Which I pointed out on the previous page. He's just complaining about someone else's contribution as if he can do a better one, but as rorschach said people like him do that but never contribute.

After the initial shock of the multiplatform announcement, I've calmed down a bit, but I'm still worried. As scalable as CryEngine 2.0 and Crysis was, you're still needing quite a bit of memory just to run the game, and it's no telling how this will translate to the consoles if Crytek wants to maintain medium level visuals as in Crysis while having only 512 MB of RAM at their disposal. Only thing I can foresee is a smaller environment to mess with or reduced graphics *or* a change in settings. Urban warfare is a possibility, and it's also a more simple environment as organic objects are the most difficult to recreate in a virtual environment. But despite my HEAVY inclinations of Crysis 2 going multiplatform, I have faith in Crytek making sure the crowd that gave them the oppurtunity to succeed in their beginning gets all the love and support that we deserve. During some posting on Beyond3d.com, someone mentioned the idea that the consoles will provide another outlet of revenue for Crytek which will give them the continued chance to create newer and better technology that will allow them to continue to push PC hardware. I like that idea, it's as if the multiplatforming is a necessary evil in order to continue PC development.
