Crysis - linear? I certainly hope that this doesn't come to pass.

they will make more money from console game than from pc so they don't care about peoples like me an you -
I'm so excited this is coming to consoles. Now I can play it on the 360 without worrying about the display settings on my laptop.

you do realize you can hook a computer upto your tv and use a 360 controller right.......
this is what I and many other people do -
Again, the graphical boost doesn't bother me, I'm completely fine with the 360 graphics.
-
anyways...not to be rude but some of you guys sound like elitist gamers...
"consoles are only going to be playing at 1280 x 720, most likely medium settings...O NOES! now i can't enjoy the game"
"I'm a pc gamer, this thing is releasing on consoles. that means...it'll suck for me. DAM YOU CONSOLES!"
take it easy, consoles aren't horrible. they are an excellent medium to play games. not everything is about playing at high as hell settings on a computer monitor. consoles have their own position in the gaming world. console gfx aren't as bad as you think, it's compensated by how far you sit back. from far all the games look great and i would find it hard for someone to complain about it. the consoles have already shown demos and the devs. themselves have said it will look like high settings (@ 720p, no AA obv.). they also have much better local MP support (crysis splitscreen?) + the TV/sofa combo. these reasons are why i still play my consoles
i do realize that games such as FEAR or GTA have shown the "consolization" of video games (that were originally on PC), but it's isn't a definite phenomenon. it's all up to devs. (crytek) on whether it will be a downgrade to us pc gamers or not. all you guys can do is speculate that's it going to be horrible. good luck with that...the people at DICE made a seperate entire team to producing the PC version of BC2 so that it doesn't disappoint the original BF series fans. this might be the case on Crysis 2 as well.
don't assume that Crytek is gonna F this thing up for PC gamers. i'm also gonna get the PC version (mainly because i like the mouse+kb on crysis vs. the 360 controller). i think crytek will definitely put out a good sequel...for both PC users and console users.
also...i think that saying "it's set in an urban environment because console can't handle the jungle's foliage" is...umm...pretty absurd. you have no idea what the devs. are thinking, and i think a mix up into a bustling city environment will be pretty cool. -

I dont mind things being on multiple platforms, I just hate the exclusivity that comes in. For example, I have a PC and I would love to be able to play Gears of War 2 or Halo 3 or ODST on it....but so far - that will never happen
-
exactly mate
i would KILL to get halo 3, my all time favorite FPS on the PC...but a boy can only wish
i think it'll be great that i can talk to my friends at school about crysis 2 when it releases. they will be able to enjoy it on their 360s while i can go ahead and buy the pc version, hopefully being a great release due to the awesome pc production team over at crytek studios! -
Here are a couple of shots:

I like the Nano Suit I much better. This one looks shiny where as the first looked visceral and loved it when it glowed red with Maximum strength. First looked like extremely high tech fibers, the new one looks like plastic. Anyone else think this?
Also I wonder if it's going to be on PS3/360, to make it seem it is awesome for PC, it won't look much better, but be 100% unoptimized so it brings our latest PCs to it's knees?
Not that Crysis was optimized... -

I can see how it is cool and 'interesting' when a specific hardware configuration is used to produce a unique game or realise a solid game engine. That's the unique technology of the hardware in question, showing its abilities. I also realise that certiain exclusive concepts are harder to duplicate in the same manner across multiple platforms, especially a hanful of Playstation 3 games. However, I draw the line at drones whining and getting up in arms with as self-righteous chip on their shoulders about how their favourite title might also be on another platform, acting out moral outrage as though their ideology is being betrayed. This is immature and narrowminded behaviour on grounds that it is promoting the eltist attitude of excluding others on different platforms who could also appreciate the same gaming franchise. -
Dunno if I will pick this up.
First one was pretty fun, but kinda lacked in the re-play department, at least for me.
Think I will stick to BC2. -
I Want To Play God Of War Iii On My Pc!!!
-
ArmageddonAsh Mangekyo Sharingan
i might have a PS3 but i know there would be only one choice for me
that is for PC, but i will wait and see if it gets butchered -
i would buy this game as long as it didn't have aliens... i actually liked the first 2 crysis games but not all the aliens in them.
-
PC version will still look amazing, I just hope it isn't changed up completely to suit the consoles better. -
I was hoping FarCry 2 would be Crysis in the jungle. It's not even the CryTek 2 Engine... sorely disappointed. Ubisoft my least favorite game publisher by far....
I do hope in Crysis 2 they make the assault rifle using universal ammo so you don't have to use the inferior weapons your enemies drop like in Crysis. That annoyed me to no end. -
Thund3rball I dont know, I'm guessing
The aliens in Warhead were MUCH better than in Crysis. And I can't say I agree about the universal ammo. It kind of made you not just spray everything and use tactics to conserve ammo if you wanted to keep your rifle instead using the Korean one.

single shot sniping the whole game FTW! (a head shot is still one hit kill from hundreds of yards away with the silencer
)
lol -
Crysis 2 release date is 24th of september (Don't forget the pinch of salt
)
That's according to GAME. -
lol no fun... i won't be able to complete it before i go to uni!
-
cookinwitdiesel Retired Bencher
What uni does not allow you to take games with you?!
lol -
Haha uni allows you to take games, but watch our or your GPA will decrease in proportion to your high score
. Is ubi publishing this game? I liked the first Crysis enough to try this one, but if it has the new internet-based DRM, forget it.
-
Na it's EA , usual disc in drive and securom crap .. better than the constant connection.
Have you tried warhead ? -
SomeRandomDude Notebook Evangelist
-
Dammit ! As i'm not into C&C i didn't even bothered reading anything about it ! thanks for the heads-up dude.
-
EA also removed Securom on BC2 for Steam.
I think EA will continue this trend. They are probably looking at Ubisoft and C&C 4 realizing the bad press is not worth the benefits of harsh DRM. -
cookinwitdiesel Retired Bencher
and oh ya....DRM only screws the legit customers anyways as the people who will pirate are pirating non drm versions
-
-
I know that , I own the game. What I said before was based on games that came out after warhead ... Eg. Sims3 , simple disc check etc etc
-
Guess I'll reserve this game for PC. Here's hoping I don't turn my M11x into a time bomb with this game!
-
-
I am so looking forward to this game. I built my last PC to max out crysis 1 and i built this new PC to max out crysis 2.
-
if it does come out in September I might not have time to play it either
hopefully transferring to a four year college this fall (finally) and can't be slacking off that soon
Crysis 2 will be set in New York (News)
