First In!

Awesome I just beat Crysis and was looking into multi so this is just want I needed.

I killed the boss of the game with my rocket launcher.... the stupid "end gun" wouldn't lock. Dont want to spoil for anybody.

 

Same thing happened here mate, had to do the same thing you did, which was a pain but if you load a previous check point before the "end gun" things should work just fine.

 

After 200+ deaths from the icy rains of hell the last thing on my mind was going further back into the game and having to redo half of it again

 

D-Day sounds cool! do you have a link for pictures or anything?

Just another 7 days till I get my laptop! The anticipation is killing meh!

 

i have a 1mbps shared with 4 in the house. so downloading 1 map is a pain i'll do my best

I have a 20mb connection but d/l each one separate is a pain, so if I manage to take the time to get them all I'll roll it up into a torrent and seed it for a few days at like 500kb/s

Ok so that took much less time than I thought lol, I already have then all, except seaholder that file seems to be missing and I tried 3 different servers. Looks like there server would be much faster than a torrent so forget what I said about that.

I loved the KPA levels, never cared much for the ship or anything after that but beat the game twice anyways. Now I just play the KPA levels over and over lol.

 

Hmm I have yet to do multi, can I just host my own game and play solo to get screen shots up for you guys?


edit: never mind! these are single player arnt they? even better

I saw SP and figured that meant single player, but then figured there was no sutch thing as "levels" in one player but you need to manually load them.

gonna go get cry tools it seems to be easier from what the readme kinda says.

Yes playing very high lol @ 1920x1080 but only DX9 (I cant see the difference between DX9 & 10 anyways) I can take video but then you have to wait for it to decode & upload and all that while pics are instant.

Gonna go try crysis falls first since it sounds pretty and was the largest file.

 

lol.. Glad someone with very Capable DX10 cards said that, People on this forum started to think i'm a DX10 hater

EDIT: Yea do so! the Falls are awesome, i cant upload screenies for now because i tried to do some mods to the game.. so every 1 minuite i'm getting a 8000 mile free fall from the sky xD

Water is invisible, it replaces the standard start area of the game and I see no water falls....

Uncharted --> another tard map. You drop into the water, and swim around some with no where to go.

rofl. its not an official pack you know. its a crymod map pack, some maps are plain awesome, others i dont know why are they even in the pack.

 

Canyon --> Looks pretty but your stuck in a small base and it has an invisible wall, maybe you can get out after you complete an objective? I dunno because your told to do something via sub titles but they are in spanish! Bah

These cool maps are very disappointing so far.

DX10 gives you a little more texture detail, and the light shines through individual leaves off trees "that effect was in Halo 1 lol" just in Crysis it's more blurred and funky looking!

Those pics make this map pack sound disappointing, try D-Day?

Please note that for some reason the Crysis SP SHD (SeaholdeR) Beta1 Map (11.73MB) has disappeared from the gameshell server, so I couldn't get it in the pack. But all other maps are...it was a beta map anyhow.

 

Actually thats wrong.

Somebody must have put preassure on Crytek, or they decided to do it on there own to artificially limit DX9. On the in game settings for DX9 it only goes up to High, while DX10 has Very High. This makes it seem that DX10 is so much better when its really not.

You can manually edit the Cvar files to tell the game High = Very High and all of those effects you just mentioned are in DX9.

There is only 1 or 2 very minor things that DX10 has that DX9 does not have and thats some improved motion blur and something else. 99.9% of the effects that people think or DX10 only are also DX9 you just need a custom config to get them, and you will get them at least in my setup for about 10fps higher.

 

DX10 also has 3d particle effects and volumetric effects (3d smoke, clouds, etc. instead of 2d sprites)

But really, i didnt really notice these effects when i played them on my friends new rig.

 

So big question about these new maps, witch ones are the good ones?

I had bad luck with the first hand full I tested.
