Single Player Alpha Gameplay

This is the game to challenge the 680m. Can't wait.

 

Yeah really looking forward to this, seems more action focused than previous crysis games too.

 

Looks sweet, gonna get this for sure. I've never played Crysis, maybe I should get the first two as well.

 

Absolutely, they're great games. Crysis 2 is more linear than Crysis 1, but it has better graphics and gameplay imo. Be sure to try out some mods as well, they greatly improve graphics and gameplay. I recommend Rygel's texture pack for Crysis 1 and MalhoHD 3.0+Quality Mod for Crysis 2. MaldoHD 4.0 looks better, but it's not finished yet.

 

Guess I better hurry up and finish Crysis 2!

I know its a c2 video. SITH WAR SPIRIT is a community rep for crytec on mycrysis and goes on to explain the beta opens on JAN 29.

Sorry thought more people would have liked to know the day the beta opens.

im just hoping i dont go through what i did on release day for crysis 2
within 20 minutes of game release my 260GTX died in the game with a screen freeze and sound loop.

will be pushing the 680 to its limit this now ive got the power

What is the purpose of the Open Beta?
The Open Beta will give you a chance to play Crysis 3 multiplayer pre-release. Although it will not be final code, it will give you a good sense of the gameplay, design and feel for the final game for when it arrives in February. We will also make final adjustments to the game based on feedback from the Open Beta.

What are you doing to prevent cheating in the beta?
Crytek has been working hard to create an anti-cheat system for Crysis 3 based on extensive feedback from Crysis 2, and other Crytek or EA titles. Thankfully we’ve been able to get our anti-cheat systems online in time for the beta. The anti-cheat operates at many levels within the Dedicated Server and Client code – from client anti-tamper recognition to monitoring geometry and line-of-sight on the Dedicated Server.A key goal for Crytek and EA has been to reduce the detection-to-ban to less than 24 hours.

The Open Beta only seems to have two maps and two game modes?
Yes, this Open Beta only includes Hunter and Crash Site game modes on the Museum and Airport maps. This small cross-section of gameplay will give you a feel for what the final game will contain. The main game has ten more maps and six more game modes that are not in the Open Beta.

Is there single-player content in the Open Beta?
No, the Open Beta is only multiplayer content. The goals of the Open Beta is to serve as a final testing of the game’s backbone and features, and to give fans and the curious out there a chance to play the game before it is released.

 

Will they be using the horrible ign crap that was used in Crysis 2? I was never able to play multiplayer since release date.

 

Is this only available on Origin?

at the moment it looks that way.

after the big fiasco with crysis 2 which was originally on steam and EA (now origin). it was removed from steam due to polotics between the two companys.
i bought both dlc's from steam and when i bought my new computer they no longer worked via the crytek download.
i spoke to EA and they said it was my computers fault. i then spoke to a manager at crytek who went to speak to his manager and what i was told shocked me. he said oh yeh, the dlc's are no longer valid. if you have them on your computer they will work but if you buy a new hard drive or computer they will no longer work. you will have to buy the extreme edition to get the dlc's again.

ive still pre ordered even after going through all that as i like the games so much.

 

That's pretty odd, I have Crysis 2 on steam too and didn't know there's dlc for Crysis 2... But Crysis 3 preordered on Origin.

originally bought on steam but a few weeks before the dlc release the above happened. then the only place to get the dlc's was direct through the crytek page but there was a lot of uproar as it was an un secured page with no encryption at all. at least now it is a secured page. also they wouldnt accept paypal and debit/credit cards was the only way to get the dlc's. then about a year later reports started coming in that the dlc links were dead. it wasnt until i got my new clevo and downloaded the game again that i found there was no way to get the dlc's which i had paid for.
long phonecalls to ea tech and then crytek head office they told me tough, and only way to get them was to buy extreme edition again.
luckily i remembered i had made a games backup and just copied the open folder across and it worked. the thing that pissed me off was that you wasnt able to open the zip as it would corrupt it so a lot of other people were not able to get the dlc's back.

 

I was able to play Crysis 2 Beta multiplayer but when the final product came out I was unable to. It has something to do with IGN/mycrysis in that that was the multiplayer anti cheat service they used. EA even issued me a new key and tried different mycrysis accounts and still nothing. And I was not the only one with the problem, there was a thread 100+ pages long with people who were unable to play Crysis 2 multiplayer. Thats whats preventing me from buying Crysis 3.

Crytek is just a money hungry company with the worst support I have ever seen from a gaming company. Cevat Yerli has a god complex and thinks no one can make anything better than him.

Crysis 2 multiplayer works fine for me, played it the other day.

 

Why do you keep saying this new engine? It's not a new engine, it's the same CryEngine 3.

And for multi-player, their issue was whatever they used for networking. And since it's not using Steam, and not using battlelog, good chance they will use the same crud again? I can say during Alpha, the net coding was still quite bad.

Also it played like COD to me during Alpha.

That's disappointing, but I'm guessing every EA game in the future will require it, as it's the only way to make people install Origin.

I already have a few Origin games and don't mind the client for singleplayer. However, there are 60 million Steam subscribers, and MP games seem to be a lot more fun on Steam. I have quite a few friends and family members on Steam, but Origin is not really well designed for interaction with others.

yea it pretty confusing for me to say crysis 3 has ground breaking graphics and tacitly say you guys dont care. pretty confusing world for some people. too bad

 

The Crysis multiplayer is really unimaginative. If they applied the same innovation to their graphics that they did with the gameplay they could really corner the market on first tier FPS, but they fall flat every time. The only reason I bought Crysis Wars was to install the Mechwarrior: Living Legends mod.

It figures a couple months go by and Mechwarrior Online and Hawken get released (youtube them).

thousands of people upgrading to play games at higher settings to see the eye candy, then comes along a game with more candy than willy wonka and nobody cares?

Apparently the Crysis 3 Beta is available to everyone with an Origin account? It will just suddenly appear in our Origin library tomorrow, even if we are not registered on the Crysis website?

 

IDK why you think no one cares about this game. There are millions of us that are excited that it's coming out.

so far had a few hiccups as it was playing usig HD4000 but now with 680 its playing good so far.

 

Well, it's Jan 29 here, but it still hasn't appeared in my Origin games library.
