It seems something is terribly wrong when playing crysis 3.
The gameplay and main menu even on medium settings is giving me less then 10 FPS practically.
I'm using a sager np9150 laptop
i7-3610QM 2.3GHz
12gb ram
GTX 680m 1 GB vid ram
Just to make sure, I test on battlefield 3 and it runs completely as expected with my specs and I do have the latest driver which If I can remember is 313.90
What's also weird is that I check systemrequirements lab and get this result... even though it is the same card as "recomended" for optimal:![]()

That card listed under "Optimal" is GTX 680, the desktop model. The 680M is a lot slower than 680.

Look at this chart. The 680M is give or take as powerful as GTX 570. But your CPU is weaker than what was tested in this chart, so who knows, that might give you less FPS if the game is a little CPU dependant

10fps seems too low for your card. Is it possible it's using the integrated graphics instead? Otherwise, maybe there are a couple of specific settings menu options that have a really high frame rate cost. You may need to experiment a bit with the settings, but you should find a good balance with high framerate and good visuals, considering your graphics card is 680m. I'm guessing the main culprit is MSAA and probably the object detail setting.
In my case, with my much weaker 5830m (limited to GDDR3 only), and I believe my CPU is also slower (i7-820QM), turning off motion blur, turning down all the settings to "Low" or "Disabled" except Post Processing (Medium), Textures (Medium) AF (4x), and using FXAA instead of MSAA resulted in playable but slightly laggy frame rate at 1920x1080 and really smooth framerate at 1600x900. -
I had the same issue, go into Optimus and set the Crysis 3 .exe to nVidia GPU, it defaults to the integrated Intel. I get 35-50 fps on "very high".

The BETA drivers solve these issues, at least according to NVIDIA they do. Up to a 68% increase in performance.
Right-click your NVIDIA control panel icon in the notification area, click "check for updates", and in preferences choose "include beta updates" at the bottom.
Note: These are BETA drivers, which means it's still in the test phase. While it may fix Crysis 3's issues, others may arise. -

I'm on 310.90, and get 40+ on ultra with low MSAA. I have Optimus disabled though.

Yep, it's what HWnut said... I was very disappointed at first play as well... was a 10fps slideshow. Then I realized it was using the integrated HD4000. Problem solved, now performance is where it should be and runs nicely.
