On my desktop the crysis 64 exe locks up instantly and stops responding, I've searched around and found a few fixes but none of them are applicable to me, Ie copying bin32 files to bin 64 for the EA store dowloaded version,( those files dont exist in my fully patched retail version) or disabling multimon and forcing vsync for nv cards, I now have an ATI card, I tried switching to one screen but that dint work. Anyone have any ideas? 32 bit works fine, though they say 64bit runs about 15% better, any ideas?

Never have had a problem running Crysis 64 Bit in Windows Vista x64 on my desktop (specs below). I have found that sometimes though you gotta click a few times before it will even show the EA logo. It's weird like that. Also do you have the latest patch (1.2)?

Its fully patched, installed the 1.2, then the little security patch for the patch. It'll switch to the black screen, then immediately says program stopped responding in the task manager.

Is it worth the effort of trying to get 64 to work? We have compareable specs, do you notice a significant performace boost?

Do you use the crysis 64 exe or the plain crysis exe in the bin 64 folder? The plain exe works, though I'm not entirely sure if its in 64 bit, anyway to tell?

i have heard of people can't can't open the crysis 64 bit application file. and you can try to find a crack for 64 bit, i think it's legal if you own a copy.

Performance is better than expected, 1440x900, very high textures, medium shader, medium post, medium shadows and high everything else runs buttery smooth for me so far, though I havent played past the first level yet. My new 3870 handles the game a whole lot better than my G80 8800 320 handled the demo.

a way to check is to launch the game then Alt-tab to the desktop and open task manager. if the crysis.exe has *32 next to it, its 32 bit. if it doesnt then its 64 bit.

x64 won't run 15% better, not a chance. Use the 32 bit launcher if that one gives you problem, although it worked for me after changing a few driver versions along the way...174.16 worked for Nvidia cards,I dunno about Ati though.

Your card should be able to play with shaders and shadows high, it'll make a world of a difference, trust me...

lower textures and make crank up the shader atleast, as eleron stated its much better, also maybe set PP to high, since you get Edge AA

Well, I used to think medium settings and 1440x900 are awesome, but then I played the game at~1024x640 at all high settings and cleared some of the jaggies with 2xAA, and boy did it ever look awesome.
I`m fine with low res as long as it`s not below the 4:1 pixel ratio(wuxga / 4 for me = 960x600) and I can max out every option :D
