create a shortcut and in the target area add -dx9 to the end (if your directory is the same)

    "C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\Crytek\Crysis SP Demo\Bin32\Crysis.exe" -dx9

I had to play the demo in dx9 mode, dx10 was too much for G1s.

Open the games browser. Right click Crysis and select "Run in DX9 Mode"

thank you so much, I would type in caps to express my joy but NBR would mess it up...playing on dx10, 800x600 all low I was getting 5-10 fps, 5 being when I was actually not looking at the ground. Now I'm at medium settings and it looks so lovely and I can not be angry anymore and....I think I love you.

    that was helpful. thank you

note the space between Crysis.exe" and -dx9 by the way

without space i got an error

and you will be amazed how crysis runs in directx9

    just much better than dx10

huge boost playing under dx9.. all medium 1280x800 was at 20-25 fps dx10, now under dx9 it rarely goes under 27, usually mid 30's!!!

Yeah, DX9 runs so much better and is actually playable. At first, I was under the impression from reading on other forums that unless you set everything to very high, it was running in dx9 mode which is not the case.

So after doing some reading, it appears that Crysis defaults to dx10 if you have a dx10 capable card.

Kinda sucks that there is no option in the menu to select between 9 and 10 because it leaving alot of people thinking the game is running the best it can not knowing it can run in Dx9 as well.
