Crysis Gatewat FX Perf. MOD

Hi all. Im one of the newest members in the NBR forum. I have found out how to run crysis on the 6860 even better than with the stock settings. It involves using the warhead engine in Crysis 1 in conjuction with UltimateRages CCC tweak for Warhead.

Please follow the instructions below to find out how.

Ok, follow this list of instructions, and you'll be playing Crysis in Warhead's engine withing a few minutes

1)

All you do is:

-Make a "Mods" folder in [.../Electronic Arts/Crytek/Crysis WARHEAD]
-Make a "Crysis" folder in the "Mods" folder

Ok, now, this is where the 5GB comes into play.

Go into the Crysis Directory,
[.../Electronic Arts/Crytek/Crysis]

Copy the ENTIRE folder called "Game", and put it into the "Crysis" Folder you made in the "Mods" folder of your Warhead game.

2)

Ok, now we need to edit some of the existing Crysis WARHEAD folders to make the MOD work. DONT WORRY. THIS DOESNT MEAN EDITING. IT JUST MEANS OVER-WRITING.

K, go into the warhead directory. Find this folder:
[...Electronic Arts\Crytek\Crysis WARHEAD\Game\Localized]

Rename "Localized". Call it "Warhead_Localized"

Go into your Crysis directory, and find this folder:
[...\Electronic Arts\Crytek\Crysis\Game\Localized]

Copy the "Localized" folder, and paste it into the Warhead "game" folder.

This is the folder that holds all the sounds and crap.

3)

Go to your desktop, and find the Crysis WARHEAD Icon [MAKE ONE IF YOU DONE HAVE ONE].

Right click it, and click "properties".

The first line should say "Target" and then the directory.
The directory should end in "...Bin32\Crysis.exe"
Add
- Mod Crysis -dx9

It should now look like:

"...Bin32\Crysis.exe" -Mod Crysis -dx9

4)

Launch the game.

IMPORTANT. DO NOT CLICK NEW GAME. THIS STARTS THE WARHEAD MISSIONS.

Open console with the [~] key, and type in the following:

con_restricted = 0
map Island


This will start the SP game, and it will work just like Warhead / Crysis works. It makes Saves, etc.


Enjoy!

So you want to play Warhead again...

Rename "Localized" "Crysis_Localized", and then re-name "Warhead_Localized" "Localized".

Remove the -MOD Crysis from the icon, and your back in warhead

IMPORTANT NOTES

This adds the nice little feature of Play the original Crysis WITHOUT a disc. So technically, its a 100% LEGIT, LEGAL, ETC, NO-DISC Trick.

Its TECHNICALLY a mod

Also, dont do something dumb like uploading the Crysis MOD folder + Localized folder, because that IS illegal. Its Crytek's property, so it would be stealing if you Downloaded it.

Next go open the warhead game folder alongside the Crysis Mods Game folder side by side.

Now Delete the crysis .pak files that have the same name as the warhead .pak files with the exception of the shaders.pak file.

Now Download UltimatRages CCC Tweaks for warhead: USE GOOGLE PLEASE

Install the one that you prefer:
LVL3 Medium/High_____Extremely Smooth---Use for the ice levels

LVL3.5 High/Very High____Very Smooth----I Reccomend this one
LVL4 Ultra High____Use only in 1024 768 Res

by putting the autoexec.cfg file in the WARHEAD game folder not the CRYSIS GAME MODS folder.


NOW Download nTune and make a profile rule to Overclock the game to

650 950 1650, and set it to run this profile evertime you open the CRYSIS WARHEAD.exe file.


Now run the game using the shortcut you made.

It should have some bugs but it should make a shader cache as you play through. All the textures will be loaded the next time you play through the level.

This is pretty extreme OC for a 6831 or 6860. If it can run Crysis for longer than 30 min I would be surprised.

Also, if you are going to tell people to run these clocks, maybe you should do it yourself? Your sig says 'nVidia 8800m GTS, clocks: 650-900-1350' with a cooler.

 

i do run it myself. I have a NZXT Cryo LX COoler. ill edit it to make it more probable and less dangerouse. And ill edit my sig too if youd like LOL. Try this method your self using 650 950 1650 and have fun with it. Spread the word and try it yourself man.
