Just heard that EA has delayed Crysis II until at least March next year after releasing quarterly profits. Never gave a solid reason , speculation is about the advent of 3D gaming , also COD Black Ops and MOD Special Ops are all being released Q4. So maybe its the competition.

I was reall looking forward to it :( , but at least the other two are coming out.

So guys whats the reason anyone think ? 3D gaming or too much competition end of the year.

Whats the whole deal behind 3d gaming any way and can the 5870 support it??

    cheers

I thought 3D was only a nVidia thing right now? I don't get it and as much as I like new tech, anything "3D" was just a passing fad (well other than true 3D GPU's, but that's not true 3D).

Man this is lame news if true. Mind posting the link please... Crysis 2 is my second most anticipated game I'm waiting for and I was looking forward to playing it in November/December. I couldn't care less about those other two games though.

Meh. Not many people I know give much of a crap about Crysis 2. Not really a huge letdown for me either. If it's anything like the first one, then I know not to get my hopes up.

Maybe they're delaying it so that it won't melt people's computers or set them on fire.

What's with it coming out for the console, I doubt it will take the most top of the line GPU to play it on decent settings, or at least settings better than the console. Unless of course, the PC version turns out to be unoptimized and inferior..... again.

I'm looking forward to Crysis 2, don't care that it's delayed though. I enjoyed myself in the first two. Despite everyone whining about system requirements, etc, I played all the way through both on my Vostro 1500 with 8600m GT (overclocked mind you), other than the final stage on the first game, everything else was completely playable, and just learn to live with reduced settings. Buy a power gaming desktop if you need all the bells and whistles.

They may be delaying it so they can add DRM that requires you to be online 24/7.

And probably also making it so damn graphically advanced that GPUs for the next 5 years can't run it maxed out.

I could always build a desktop with An i7 920, get 4 480s and quad-sli them, and use it as a space heated for my studio apartment while playing it then? ;)

I've never been one to spend that much on a desktop though, another thing is that I don't need games running at full frames if it'll cost that much for it~

I still play BF BC2, it's awesome. I'm just hoping Crysis 2 lives up to the hype, the 1st one was good and I'm hoping this will be better. Hoping to get better performance too, since they redid the code for Cry Engine 3.

This sucks. Seems people are not looking forward to it. I for one thought the original was a class game especially all the single player mods done for it, so I am dissappointed about this news :(

Also is won't be that graphically demanding. It was only demanding when it came out as they wanted the engine to be future proof for the later games such as Crysis 2. Cryengine 3 is probably just a thoroughly engineered version off cryengine 2 to make it less demanding rather than more although there will be plenty of eye candy for those with powerful enough machines to handle it.

This reminds me that I pre-ordered Crysis 2 back in April.

So now I've pre-ordered nearly a year in advance.

I agree about the aliens, it seemed cheesy but the game play was nothing short of amazing and really set the bar for all FPS games. So high in fact that (for me anyway) I have almost no interest in any other FPS's on the horizon because I have been spoiled so badly by the Cryengine 2.

Playing MW2 after playing Warhead just felt so generic and boring.

Indeed. The only thing that comes close is BF BC2. Otherwise, developers need to step up.

Really now? I thought crysis and warhead were pretty boring. Didn't really set anything new to me. The nanosuits were kind of cool at first, but really, the functions aren't all that needed in the game. Except for stealth, which was practically needed on higher difficulties. I thought it was a generic FPS, a good one though. I had much more fun in MW 2 and bf bc2 though.

I love Crysis. I'm disappointed that Crysis 2 was delayed. Now I do play MW and MW2, but I really prefer Crysis.
