I thought the Sept 11th release was weird for Crysis. Maybe more optimization time?

I know, it got delayed once again.
Hopefully this date is firm.
There are going to be tons of great game releases this fall and winter. -

That stinks, I really did believe it would come out Sep 11...Since it was an national crisis...so the game crysis will come out on a crisis day......blah, you get the point.
So Nov 16 huh? -_- -
You can play Crysis Demo already. Its been floating around recently.
Its 1.5gigs, a beta demo.
I already have been playing it for a week now. Playable with my 7800GTX @ WUXGA and low-mid settings. -

Yeah, where has it been "floating" around?
Cuz I wanna know, lol. -
I can see some torrents, but I don't trust torrents claiming to be things that aren't out yet. Do you have a link? -
-
-
well gophn did say that it was in wuxga...so wouldnt that put quite some strain on the gpu compared to lets say wxga?
-
the 8600gt has 128 bit
therefore, one can assume that performance will be similar at wxga
just don't try to run crysis at 1680x1050+ as the 8600gt scales worse as the resolution goes up due to the buss -
-
WXGA = 1024000 pixels
WUXGA = 2304000 pixels..
I guess so. -

We will see what DX10 does for the 8 series. Unified Shaders FTW!

you have no idea....
IRC is your best friend... not http or torrents (and other P2P's). -
If there is a real demo then prove it. Paste a link.
-
-
i'll give you a clue though.
If you are looking up torrents.... i bet 99.99% are fake.
Especially if the size is 1.4gigs-ish.... I know the idiots that cooked that up (on IRC).... its all binary 0's.... they wanted to get LOL's from ppl that downloaded it. (at least this time its not gay pr0n or a virus).
EDIT: do not ask me more than that, if anyone gets confirmed on having the Crytek Alpha's or Beta's... thats liability for them on someone stealing (or having possession) of the game's unprotected coding. I may be a gamer and enthusiast, but I have a good enough background in law and business law to know not to past the line. I'll leave it at that.
P.S. This year's E3 events also give another clue on the demo. -
-
good, as long we understand each other
-
so everything is kept lowkey? I see. At least it's not as big as Half Life 2's source code being stolen
edit: gophn you shouldn't have said anything, lol -
-
hey it just turned into another rumor like the assassin's creed demo being leaked which i highly doubt about that.
-
I have a feeling Gophn is just trying to rouse some excitement... and it worked. Because the moment he said it I went looking in all my sources for it.
Nothing found. There's no leak. There would've been a much larger reaction. -
I never said "leak".
-
-
masterchef341 The guy from The Notebook
oh yeah if crysis was available, there would be big news about it.
think "half life 2 leak".
plus, there would be "youproof" - youtube proof with people playing the game, showing the mouse, maybe writing down their screen name, all on camera without a cut. -
I never said anything about it being on IRC... I am just an old skooler that would recommend IRC over the P2P's
I'll just say one last thing:
I used to beta for Westwood, EA, etc... (and I attend E3 with industry badge).. so you think about that. -
We will begin the conversation starting from this post:
Crysis Nov 16th
