hey guys, iv been looking into Crysis lately and im extremely excited about it. The visuals for this game look amazing. Does anyone know what kind of system they were using to play crysis at e3 ect.? were they using some software to emulate dx10?

Last time I checked, Crysis needs about a Geforce 6600 to play at min settings...
It will be released in both Directx9 and Directx10 versions. There was no need for software emulation since they were playing the dx9 version. -
At one point they were playing it on the Xbox360, which supposedly has DX10-like capabilities (though that has been debated). Other times, I think they were running it on an XPS M1710, which would mean a 7900GTX. I don't remember if they had a disclaimer that it would look better in DX10 or if they were emulating it somehow.

The guy is running it smoothly on a with near max settings 7800gtx, so i'd imagine a 6600 could play it with low settings

Vinnie: What kind of computers are being used at Crytek?
Michael: Man, everyone has a different machine here. I don’t even know the specs of my machine. I honestly have no idea. Well I've got an NVIDIA 7800GTX, I know that much.
Vinnie: haha, same card as me.
Michael: So, you will enjoy Crysis
Vinnie: You really think so?
Michael: Well it runs here, and there is no amazing secret hardware or software I have
Vinnie: So you think my pc will run Crysis fine. Maxed out at 1024x768?
Michael: I think so
Vinnie: So Crysis runs fine for you? At the highest details?
Michael: Sure, but it’s not even optimized yet -

@ above, that link is obviously just PR for the PC version. Don't honestly tell me it would be technically impossible to get it on the PS3/360
-
Of course its not technically impossible, but if it were to be done it'd be without DX10 effects, which is one thing the developer has said the game is built around.
Course, I'm expecting Crysis to make an appearance on the 360 at some point, I'd be suprised if it didn't. I'd imagine Mr Microsoft will turn up on Crytek's doorstep with a bag of money and a Xbox Exclusive contract! -
Well now there are videos of 8800GTX rendered Crysis, so I guess they could make it DX10 rendered with that nice little graphics card. Links are in some other thread in this forum, nearby.
