I'm really happy now coz i was lead to believe that i'd have to run this game by either changing the resolution or overclocking my graphics card. I just ran the game now and i'm proud to say it works fine without doing either of those. But on the lowest settings of course. it looks like it's a very good game![]()

how many FPS are you getting?
-
i'm sorry i don't know how to get the exact figure. If u tell me how i'd be glad to
It's very decent fps, there's no lag whatsoever.

Tinderbox (UK) BAKED BEAN KING
Hi.
I ran crisis demo on my 9200m gs, at stock clocks and it ran fine!
you can download and install FRAPS to get your FPS.
Regards
John. -
thanks, i'll try that now, No more superwoman
?
-
Please monitor your temps. Before you know it, you would be able to bake cookies above that palm rest....
-
Don't use FRAPS. It will reduce your effective fps. Use the benchmarking utility included in the game.
-
lol how come? it feels fine.
Xirurg: i'm getting a max of about 21 or 22 FPS and an average of about 18 roughly. It never goes below 15 or 16.
Thanks again for the program Tinderbox (UK) -
great!then macbook with 9400 should be able to play it even better-and 9600gt
-
lol i donno man i just gave u the figure i got

yeah I just downloaded the Crysis single player demo last night. Installed this morning on my Toshiba x305 it has a 9700m gts. Well anyway first thing I did was try to max it out everything on very high running in dx10 at native resolution of 1440x900. I got like 4 fps totally unplayable. So I went to all settings on high dx10 same res and got 6-22. Still kinda slow so I went to all medium dx10 same res got 12-50 good but not smooth enough. Went to dx9 and everything medium at 1440x900 now it's a good clip sustaining above 24 fps consistent 30 and above. sometimes it'll drop to 18-22 but 24 is the magic fps.
The crytek engine is a marvel cause it calculates alot of things and stays consistent but it does demand horsepower although it scales very well. It reminds me of Gears of War and the unreal engine, just as demanding on hardware but I remember reading expert reviews on that game and they suggest running in dx9 since dx10 takes a huge hit in performance and you can't even tell the difference, and medium setting looks just like very high I don't really know what's different. Game seems interesting though.
My question is I see an option for controller. Does it support the xbox360 controller, can I just plug mines in and it automatically binds the keys and I can start playing? Also I was thinking about getting the one on Steam with Warhead, or is it better to get the retail version and just use the no cd crack, since I do this for all the games I purchase? -
"I can tell you that the first Crysis has native support for the X360 controller, so I assume Warhead does as well. I always have an X360 controller connected to my PC, and every time I launch Crysis it displays a message saying "X360 controller found" or something like that. With the controller connected, the in-game prompts always tell me what buttons to press on the controller for an in-game action, even if I am not actually using the controller. So apparently having the controller connected overrides in-game key prompts.
Apparently all "Games for Windows" titles have native support for the X360 controller, if it makes sense (I've seen games like Company of Heroes NOT support the controller, but then again it's an RTS so that makes sense).
Anyways, yeah I'm pretty d*mn sure Warhead has native support for the X360 controller."

Kinda noob at that ;D -

'jacob808'
Could you try playing Crysis in 1280x800, Dx9 mode, on 'High' settings and report back the results?
I think the lowered resolution would have a big impact on the game by improving your FPS and you can bump up the quality on 'high' (possibly 'very high'). -
Thund3rball I dont know, I'm guessing
Press the ~ key
Type "r_DisplayInfo = 1" (wihtout the quotes)
Press Enter key
Now you will see your FPS and some other performance info. -
About the 20 FPS on a 9200M GS, what settings and resolution did you play it at?
-
The resolution is 1024x768 and all the settings are at minimum except for the motion blur which is off. The game's graphics are still brilliant with these settings.
-
have you tried 800x600 and 640x480?
-
The demo for Crysis really is unoptimized. Also Warhead is way more optimized then regular Crysis imo.
-
No...but i can if u want
why?
-
just interesting...and how much is your 3d mark score?
-
Try 1200*800 with everything on High.... -
-
-
Wow, Crysis on a 9200m??
That's incredible. -
i'm detecting sarcasm
i got Grid running at acceptable FPS as well a couple of hours ago. Had to change the resolution a bit tho -
-
In the demo, ~ key doesn't open the console for me... On my laptop with medium everything it runs ok, prolly like 20 fps when the action heats up (DX10 1280x720), but I can't know for sure without the console, haha. Medium looks pretty good for being "medium", and since warhead is supposed to be better optimized for the mainstream and it's only $30 (with nice multiplayer) I'll prolly pick it up!
Crysis Running just fine on GeForce 9200m GS
