The Crysis Warhead patch has been released, improving textures, performance, bugs, and bringing 64-bit binaries to the table.
The patch can be downloaded here:
http://www.webscribber.com/download/crysis_warhead_patch1.zip
These are the full patch notes as seen in the readme file with the patch.
General Fixes/tweaks
* Windows Vista: Mouse cursor should no longer have an offset in the menu.
* Windows Vista: Unrequested launches in windowed mode should occur less often now.
* Timedemo can now be started from the command line.
* Better dynamic texture support for enthusiast mode.
New Features
* Added 64-bit executables for Windows XP x64 and Windows Vista 64-bit version. In Windows XP x64 a new shortcut will be placed under the Crysis Warhead program group. In Windows Vista right-click the Crysis Warhead icon in Game Explorer and choose to run the game in 64-bit mode.
Known Issues
* Games saved in 32-bit won't work properly when running the 64-bit version and vice-versa.
Note: After applying the patch the version displayed (lower right corner of menu) is 1.1.1.710.
Overall, the game is far 'cleaner' feeling. Just played the train scene. Frame rates are up 4-5fps, the textures look better, and I'm now averaging 30fps @ 1680x1050 @ Enthusiast, no AA. Before, I averaged about 25fps. The program usually used appx 850-900MB of system memory, now it is at 1.3GB. Now where is Sandbox 2 Warhead edition at?

Downloading now. This better not be a joke. LOL.
I think im trembling. I need to stop playing crysis lol.
I LOVE YOU you are awesome and not a lyer. It's real. Download it everyone.
5 fps boost. WHO HOOOO -
Wow, I also got a boost of 4-5 fps. Thats a lot for Crysis. Thanks.
-
Cool, thx
-
Anybody know what this 'TimeDemo' is, and how to launch it?
-
YAY now i use CCC lvl5!!!!!!!! at 1440 900
ITS SO PRETTY
WHOOOO HOOOO -
Good thing they fixed those textures and I've only played it in Enthusiast mode. Anyone else notice that most of the time, the textures would be blurry from a distance and "wipe back" to normal once you got close to them, such as going to a rock on the beach? It was quite annoying and never happened in the original Crysis.
Those CCC mods work both in Crysis and Warhead? -
Yes rahul they do. Just install in it the original crysis. Then copy over the file to the new one. It looks even better on Warhead then on Crysis.
Try it.
Thought i would only reccomend it for if you want higher graphics than Ultimas CCC lvl4.
If not then only get it if you want lvl 5
or if you have a 9800m SLI setup get lvl6.
I play lvl5 at like 30 frames per second and up. -
wow, this is awesome, my desktop went from running it at shaders and shadows at gamer rest at enthusiast and 2xaa, to all at enthusiast 4xaa.
30fps and random drops to smooth 40-50s
crossfire 4870s and 4.2ghz overclocked cpu, maybe the patch scales better with higher end parts. -
Now the only way you can get the Sun in the game to look good is too Have it at enthusiast. So i just install CCC lvl5 which is like enthusiast PLus.
Brian.hanna install ccc lvl6 in crysis then transfer the autoexec.cfg file to warhead.
It look brilliant.
I tried it but it was too slow for me. Your 4870 should handle it just fine. -
I'm going to try this CCC thing...
-
Does anyone know how to install the patch if my installation directory is not the common one? I ran it but my Warhead version is still 1.1.1.690.
-
-
I haven't played much but it doesn't look like I'm getting much of an fps boost at all on my desktop. And I still have the offset mouse cursor problem.
-
I wish this was out before. I rarely go back to games I've already played.
-
-
-
-
so if I have a Windows Vista 64-bit, I have to right click and choose Crysis to run on 64-bit instead of it being automatic?
-
-
also does the original Crysis support 64-bit? -
The original Crysis does support 64-bit. Crytek has always been a supporter of 64-bit from the beginning. The original Far Cry also had support for x64 via a patch. -
Well I'm not sure why 64 bit runs slower, but 32 bit is running faster for me than before. High shaders are actually borderline playable now! If before patch I had 20 FPS, now I have about 25 (in 32 bit). That's certainly an improvement
-
I was wondering why steam updated Warhead last night... And now I know why. Lets see how Warhead likes 6GB of ram shoved into its face....
-
-
Nope. Its just 6GB DDR2 Ram that I have in my desktop.
-
i have a desktop i7 @3.7Ghz with 12gb tri-channel running at 1700mhz and a gtx 295 oc'd, this patch lets me run at 1920x1080 all enthusiast with 2xaa and vsync with a constant 60fps in dx9 64 bit mode.
-
uhmm...little donky...that card can get 1000000000000000000000000000 FPS in any game lol.
No need to tell us this.
ha ha hah....you're a funny guy...any ways ...HOW MANY FPS WERE YOU GETTING BEFORE THE PATCH. most likely no less than 53 -

i guess he was just joking around, trying to get some nbr street cred.
-
my 4870s in crossfire and 4.2 oc cpu hit 70 max, but usually hover in the 30-50 range -
-
Thanks, bro I try it
-
Hell, I don't admit I've recently assembled a desktop with a sweet GTX 260 Core 216.
Oops. -
Ok. Enough Desktop talk. This is a notebook forum people!
Yes, I know its my fault that the desktop conversation got started.
