So i decided to finish crysis 1 before i started #2. Anyway, I get some major fps drops many many times, especially in the jungle areas. I can only get like 40-60 fps on all low, but I managed to move up to medium/high with around 30 fps. The problem is, it will randomly drop to around 10 many times. Really annoying during firefights.

On top of that, is my save corrupt or something? I'm only on the second chapter of the game where I'm supposed to meet prophet near the caves but he doesn't even show up. I tried going back to some previous save games but its full of bugs too. The checkpoints I'm supposed to be at never have anyone there to continue the mission...

I'm not sure how to help you with that, I had a constant crash at a certain point in the game while running in DX10, but switching to DX9 fixed the only issue I ever had.

It's odd. I need to set the object quality to low and i can move the texture quality to high and shaders/shadows to medium. Everything else has to stay at low especially post processing. Even then, when I move through the high foliage areas i will get an fps drop to like 10 fps. If i stop moving my fps will go back to 30-40 =/

Is it possible that your 3650 just can't handle the game, and gets bogged down when any type of action goes on? I've also heard that this game, even on low, renders trees with A LOT of polygons, which might be your issue with walking through the jungle.

The 3650 can't handle anything anymore.

Eh... even that most likely wouldn't be pretty.

Shinakuma - at the areas where you are only getting 10FPS or similar, are you looking at or in direct vicinity of one of the scientists who got owned by the freeze ray in the jungle, or near smoke? Because I find that a lot of computers will have trouble handling specific things in Crysis (such as smoke, and ice in Crysis).

As for corrupt saves, you may or may not have to restart the game, unfortunately, or download a save from the internet. It's possible that the game may even need a reinstall. However, the part you are at is the end of that map, so you lose no detail in directly loading the next map via the console.

Press the "~" key, and type in "con_restricted 0". Then type in "map rescue".

From memory, the next map is named rescue in the Crysis directory. It should load up a cutscene of you walking through a jungle with Prophet.

EDIT: I remember one time playing through Crysis, at the end of that particular level, the cave tunnel you have to go through was blocked up by rocks, actually contradicting the level's data when opened in the level editor...

I suppose you are running the latest version (1.2.1) of the game, right? If you aren't, I'd suggest installing the 1.2 and 1.2.1 patches and start playing the game from the beginning.

I just restarted the level and played through it again. It worked fine. As for performance, I think object detail set to low makes it way less laggy. Also post processing and particles lag it like hell too.

Yeah, particles from memory doesn't make a huge amount of difference to visuals either. I remember testing in Warhead, and the only notable difference between particles on Very High and Low was that Very High has a little more detail in waterfalls and splashing, etc.

I has lots of issues with Crysis 1 on my current M15x... mostly quits to desktops and BSODs...

It even crashed so often during the final boss fight, I ended up uninstalling without finishing it...

I hope C2 is less buggy for me...

Fallout new vegas for the 10 minutes i played it before trash can, had a bug on nvidia GT 240m where it would lag to hell within 2 meters of a friendly. Apparently it was a nvidia+directx thing. Try switching directx or updating directx or maybe this has absolutely nothing to do with that.

Fallout New Vegas for me also. Didn't feel like playing a game where it takes 5 hits to the head directly to kill a tiny lizard with a rifle. Seemed moronic to me.

I'm so glad I didn't buy fallout new vegas. If I had, I would have either sued steam or shot myself after playing 10 minutes of it.
    ITS THAT BAD.

OK i finally beat the game :D. That last level was annoying as hell, only because of the freaking bugs. I had to redo my last save like 5 times because the TAC cannon wouldn't do anything.

I'll move on to Crysis 2 now, but is Crysis warhead worth playing?

If you can get it for under $20, I'd say so. I quite enjoyed, the gameplay is a little more "racy", and the visuals are a little more vibrant, if not as realistic.

The only part I didn't enjoy was when Psycho had a big sulk near the end of the game... it kinda ruined the "tough guy" attitude for me.

Mmm, ok. Also I noticed that performance is way better in Dx9 mode. Does Crysis 2 have that also?

    Crysis 2 doesn't have a native DX10 or DX11 mode.

I liked Warhead, but it's much shorter than Crysis and the plot is less compelling.
