Anyone buy it when it was 75% off? I never played crysis but seen people play crysis and from what I hear its more a good looking shooting games that lets you admire the environment and play through it. Anyway I am also worried about the drm.
Is it possible for me to chat to someone at ea or crytek etc to reactivate online as I heard someone else do that. Where would I go to do this. This is good for future reference.
Crysis 2 looks great, don't know why people think crysis 1 was amazing as the requirements were ridiculous and it looked ok but nothing special. Its like as if people think it takes gta 4 type requirements at the time, it must be amazing graphically as in brainwashed to everyone thinking crysis 1 looked great.
Crysis 1 looks good but the depth of the graphics and terrain is not as good as most new games. I know it came out a while before. Overall it looks like crysis 1 try to look lifelike but didn't have the whole graphics polished.
Crysis 2 looks more of a modern game look and looks great.
Anyone who is used to playing football and racing and games like batman or even spiderman back in the day think crysis will be easy to get to. I think only shooting type games I have played is asteroids lolon the gameboy and online as well as some others like joust. Good times especially with snes and donkey kong country and mario kart and mario world and killer instinct and bomberman as well as the ps1 with wc98 isspro gt1 and gt2 etc.

Anyway is crysis a good game for newbies to get into. I have an xbox 360 controller so it should be easy to use right?
Last thing I plan on playing crysis 2 on my laptop and seen youtube videos playing it mediumish at 30fps so that should be alright gameplay wise right.
Also if anyone can tell me how easy it is to get the 5x activation limit reset without phoning please tell me![]()
Finally thanks for reading and if anyone else bought it for £9.99 post here.

Crysis as a whole looks much better than Crysis 2. Much of this has to do with the beauty of the physics, how everything is destructible. The world is much more open and there are MANY different ways to attack and approach a situation. Crysis 2 is very linear and the environment is hardly what I would call destructible. Sure the lighting it better and the overall textures are richer in the buildings. I will take Crysis 1/Warhead any day over Crysis 2.
Given your graphics card, I think you may have a hard time running on medium settings. My 8800mGTX from 4 years ago hit 10k 3dmark06 and I see you get a bit over 1/2 of that. I had to run Crysis 1 on Medium. I know on Ultra it takes my 2 580M SLI to run at about 30FPS consistently. I would check the review for your GPU on Notebookcheck.net and see what it can handle.

The fact that Fear 2 runs at 38 FPS on Medium settings from 2009 should give an indicator that you will not be playing Crysis 2 on medium settings unfortunately. It will probably have to be played on low and same for Crysis 1 and Warhead. I hate to break the news, but honestly, those games, are a sight to behold on high settings and it really does alter the gameplay experience if you have to play on very low settings. -

Crysis looks fine as long you play in medium or higher, it gets really ugly on low settings.
You should be passable/okay with a 9600m GT on medium settings in 1280x720.
That said, most of the fun I personally had with the game was that the graphics were so great. The actual gameplay was relatively uninteresting for me. I wouldn't recommend getting Crysis to play through at 25-30 fps in medium settings and lowish resolution. The experience isn't good enough to compensate if you're going to have an mediocre graphics and performance situation. -
Crysis looks beautiful even on medium settings so if you can get around 45-50 steady fps at med settings then you are good to go.
Not running it at native resolution and low setting is a nono since it looks horrible and makes everything dull and dark. -
I would have trouble recommending Crysis 2, I don't think it would be enjoyable on your GPU.
Crysis, however, may run good enough. I just played through it to the end finally rather recently. Had fun.
Why not try the demo to make sure you like it?
FilePlanet: Crysis - Demo (Singleplayer)
As far as the DRM is concerned, are you really going to install it on 6 different machines (6th one requiring the call..) -
I suppose I'm in the minority, but I enjoyed all the games, Crysis, Crysis: Warhead and Crysis 2. I look forward to the third.

I just went and bought it anyways.

I see this is oc one. I reckon considering I play on xp it should run better.

Don't forget crysis 2 is on consoles and mine is slightly more overall powerful with unified shaders. -
While Far Cry was great I couldn't really enjoy the Crysis-games.
