Your GPU is throttling down clockspeeds. This can usually be turned off in the GPU driver somewhere. Typically it is for your own protection, in some cases with weak batteries, if a GPU and CPU are running at maximum load it will literally pull more power out of the battery than the battery can provide, instantly shutting down your system.
Why do you need to play Crysis on Battery? -

With the GPU and CPU running at full load, your battery will drain faster than fast.
Do you really need to play Crysis on battery? -
I would not even turn off the protection in driver support... if the gpu at full load pushes the system wide power draw higher than that battery can handle, you're going to risk circuit damage, overheating, etc...
This is not just your machine... nor is it something new. -
Thanks for the reply guys, I'm not really planning on playing on battery, I was curious so i tested it on why it won't have the same performance when i have the same min/max settings from plug in to battery mode.
Thanks -
I wrote this on a thread above, see if it helps.
Cheers

If the GPU is NVIDIA and you are using a recent driver, chances is that powermizer is set to save battery. Is it the case? Please post your specs
