My laptop is an Acer Aspire 8600gt 2.2ghz 3gb ddr and when playing Crysis 1.2 on medium settings it lag heavy, is this normal or it there a way to edit something in order to make it run more smoothly?
What kinda laptop would make Crysis run on high and yet still be playable?

really? You should either call Acer or go to there site and see if there is a way to install nvidia's OWN drivers.

No he says he can't run it on medium and is asking what laptop could run it on high.

As others have said, what resolution are you playing at try updating your drivers. Nvidia released their new mobile drivers so it should work better.

Also, there are many mods for Crysis to make it work better(ex: natural mod or such).

    A few more questions:
-After installing 1.2 patch the menu right under sais 111.6115, is that normal?
-I added in the target box one blank space after the last character add -dx9 but how can i know for certain my game is running under dx9 now?
-Are there any good mods for 1.2 that enhances realism?

I remember running Crysis on all medium settings, 1280x800, no AA or shaders in dx10 and got on average 20-25 fps. Did go below 20 fps during the snowy region, but other than that, it didn't lag noticeably. I was using the latest drivers at the time, so you definitely need to update those drivers~

you know if its in DX9 mode because very high settings are shaded out in the menu.
