Crysis launch

I'm sure you will be *****ing about Far Cry's performance as well though, like everyone else

 

Well, I just want to see the cryengine vs yeti engine. Although I admit fc2 had more time to be worked on. I mean conceptually I like far cry 2 better, in terms of its "open" ended style of play (yeah I know thats been said before.) I was never that excited about crysis before. ITs basically a game with amazing graphics and a nanosuit..

 

Well, I already played Crysis final version on my laptop and it is a big disappointment for me. It looks like an improved FarCry .... and I'm sorry I spent my money on it. COD4 rulz !!!!

 

so whats so great about far cry 2? How long has it been in the making? And how have you already formed an opinion about a game which hasn't even released a demo yet?

 

Actually I agree with kind3r. For me Crysis looks awesome in certain areas, whereas it looks worse in other areas. The game doesn´t look awesome all the time. The gameplay is fun though, but I look more forward to Far Cry 2.

Crysis is just Far Cry 1.5

 

What are you talking about? Far Cry 2 looks promising from the previews and footage we've seen so far. That's not an opinion, that's an impression.

 

yes crysis was also most flawless and best game ever made from the previews that were released. Now people are so quick to jump on its minute flaws

 

I'm not quick to judge. I never thought it was going to be a ground breaking games in terms of gameplay although the visuals are stunning. Neither did I say any game was better than the other, I just stated my opinion about what I thouhgt I would prefer.

Well... As I said... ive been waiting for a long time for crysis... the one reason up until now is that if it could play crysis (highest end game) on a lappie... that lappie will most definitaly last me 3-4 years... so m15x pretty much made my post crysis purchase

Farcry2 is in africa and will have around 75 square kilometers of land... flamethrowers, guns, AI,... one major advance will be LEAVES now... since the ones in crysis look like from games 5 years ago... Basically FC2 will have the beauty of palms in leafes... so excpect Crysis2/FC3 or CRY**** or ***CRY whatever to have even more realism...

I just hope someday they will have a game that uses realtime degradation, digital molecular breaking/basis (I forgot whats its called) real water physics (where water soaks into stuff and affect it... or you grenade water and it lands on the ground and moves and stuff...

 

If games do get advanced to do all of the modelling you expect them to you would have figured out how to type, how not to act like a troll and how to act your age.

I see you haven't got Crysis to run despite your prior claims to a Windows defender update, huge 765MB requirements and other incoherent nonsense. Good. Go attend the launch on the 19th and wet your pants later at the visuals once you get the new alienware.

I checked up and it was an update for one of my programs... jeez... I didnt see the description.

Now when I try to run it (WHICH I CANT) it says no Shader Model 2...

I got to run to the menu but it kinda went all weird (Yesterday)...

Anyways... Ill get my lappie and happily live on... its not such a big reason to go balistic against me... wow

You were told you couldn't run it but instead of taking the hint you tried installing it earlier and spammed that ridiculous error message post saying you couldn't, typical behaviour from you given your post history.

Back on topic: Considering how huge this game is anyone have any idea if it will get language localisation support? Seems everyone has an english version in Europe and the USA.

People come to this forum for help, not to hear asshats like you boast about how their gma950 is apparently more powerful than top-tier graphics cards like the 8700GT or the 7950GTX.

I mean, do you seriously expect anyone to believe you? The only thing you end up doing, is confusing people who are actually interested in getting help from these forums.

I suspect you're also lying about getting the new alienware as well, and it will be easy enough to figure out.

Not only that, but if he claims to come to this forum to learn about new things and ask for advice there is absolutely no evidence to show for the former (blind and deaf to users giving advice about his numerous graphics card threads) and for the latter he's only asked for help on what laptop to get and which graphics card to pair it with.

I give him 2 weeks before his "life" becomes more important than this side hobby and he stops spamming the forums.

Then find your old thread, follow the instructions we gave you on how to post proper screenshots with the correct settings and prove it. Empty claims have no credibility on these forums. Oddly enough apart from Beatsiz no other users have posted similar threads lately claiming their GMA950 can run Far Cry at the settings he claimed.

? What do you mean not resetting? I'm actually still surprised Far Cry will run in the first place...

Also, Endgaget notes the M15x runs about $2199 for the "base" config (with 8800 GTX). That's a bit more than $1399- you can just barely get a 8600M GT at that price.

 

no the m15x starts at 1399, the M17x starts at 2199

 

Stubborn as a mule, the only reason people ask for hard evidence using screenshots and fraps is because if your system can run Far Cry at settings higher than what is commonly expected on this forum it would greatly benefit other users and allow them better gaming quality without too much of a performance impact.

Most users on this forum couldn't care less what Intel tells you about your Gary's Mod or whatever it's called. Until you provide evidence of the medium/high settings on your PC with or without the mod you won't receive much empathy from fellow users, especially with your constant emissions of virtual hot air.

Obviously he has no idea what he's talking about... Or maybe he's simply playing Far Cry at 640 x 400 all low settings with 6 FPS and consider that "playable" .

I honestly wouldn't waste the time if I were you--like you stated, within a week or two, he'd probably go back to his "Real Life" and stop spamming the board with nonesense BS.

 

You're right about that, it's just that I absolutely despise a combination of hot air, bad grammar, mulish tendencies, tunnel vision, selective blindness and deafness along with repeated forum spammage all rolled in one package. Back to the Crysis launch topic: I once did a project on the video games publishing industry and am currently interested in how much forum users are paying for their Crysis copies. Are you people out there paying over the odds compared to regular prices for recently released games or do you get discounts if you pre-order? I can't check where I am since the game isn't released and if it is it will be localised language-wise for the benefit of consumers (hence my earlier on-topic question on localisation).

Garrys mod was either from Medium or High usually all on high assides HDR

i pre-ordered crysis for 5 bucks at gamestop got a bonus disc with an extra vehicle i can download, and then picked the game up and paid 45 bucks...so 50 bucks total

YOU kept claiming you could run your mod at medium to high, and now you don't even bother restarting the program to reflect the new medium to high settings. Hence screenshots are probably on low to very low which is what everyone on this forum expects your system to run far cry at. If you can't understand that you can't run your game on medium to high on your system no matter what you try and claim then there's little point in further reasoning.

Two answers and both of them from US$50-55. Sounds like it will cost that much in euros and pound sterling too.

 

Ok first of all... my friend in Europe bought crysis in germany... he said its german and he lives right accross the boreder in france and said there its french... anyways... In europe all games are more expensive... he said he payed around 45 euros.. and it varied from shop to shop... he sai 40 to 75 depending on what country and what location... he also said 3 versions...

-Collectors
-Special something pack with dog tags and idk... he said collectors edition limited with more stuff...

How are they diff. resolutions?!?!? I only use 1280*800... I will get you screens... I will set ALL HIGH and restart game with fraps and stuff... I read on intel and it said Garrys Mod should run "Good" on gma950
