hi i just got my MSI GT725-075 with 64bit windows. when i try to play crysis warhead, there are glitches all over the screen. there are black dots aligned all across the screen, and then there are random gray shapes/lines that fly all over the screen. i've tried over/underclocking my video card. but nothing seems to be working. i even tried to play it in dx9 but that didnt do anything as well. anyone else have this problem? or is there a way i can fix this? this is really annoying cuz i just got the system and this is the first game i've played on it.

Sounds like you might have a faulty graphics card.

Also, try SP1. Microsoft knows of graphical issues that came about, especially with some 9 series cards. I too scoffed at the idea of going to SP1 but it worked for me. Go figure...

Yeah sorry, I never thought about the fact that your system probably came with it. Have you done the obligatory temp. surveys and mem sweeps?

Well, for temps I use rivatuner although others may have a different preference. I would say looking for gaming temps from 70-90 (without any cooling and depending on the lappy's inherent cooling.) Prime 95 is a possible way to put memory sticks through their paces but I would also say your problem seems to be graphic card in nature. Artifacts like those you described usually point to a hardware issue, although I was getting the same results with a bad driver/windows combination. You can also monitor your card's clocks from rivatuner to make sure the card isn't "downclocking" during gaming. I just hate to jump to a hardware issue because that will get nasty.

I would certainly run rivatuner to be sure the card is not overheating/downlclocking, although a downclock wouldn't cause that. If it's not overheating there is an outside chance it is a bad driver combo (what drivers do you currently have installed?). Outside of that it will probbaly end up being something on the card.
