Sweet! Thanks for sharing. I know I won't get to it any time soon but if it's in my library, I may just fire it up one day. :)

Yeah, best fighter of WW 2... I could never own the real thing and even if I knew how to fly it's probably be a 68 year old airplane... So flying a realistic sim is a treat. Seems there wasn't much interest here on this forum for this game.

I wish it was Steam though, but I guess Steam dropped carrying further DCS Sim games. I tried my A10C and Black Shark 2 and it's real tough to get these going, even on a realistic takeoff. I guess it takes a lot of intelligence and practice to master complicated controls on machinery like in these flight sims... All I'm good for is driving my car and minivan... simple stuff.

Thanks for the post here, I picked up a copy when I received the email notice a few days ago.... it's a great deal for the package! Also, all of their other offerings are a great sale price as well!

And, as a real life pilot on a budget, I'll never get to fly one of these puppies either, so it is a real treat I agree! Flight sims got me hooked on PC gaming way back in the 80's and it's been non stop ever since! Honestly, they really do help with currency and keeping your head in the game when really flying, no doubt. I try to fly weekly in real life but never get tired of sims, ever.... love em!

Lucky you. I got my PP-SEL certification back in 2005. Flew a little, then when my first was born in 2007, I haven't been able to fly since. But have always been an avid flight sim nut. Don't get much time to play with flight sims either any more just because they are very time consuming. In any case, yeah I used MS Flight Simulator to practice my solo flights before I did them. At least it got me familiar with the airspace, frequencies, and landmarks/freeways. I miss being able to fly, although don't miss the stress of parts of it.

While in training though, Jack Roush's hangar was right next to ours with two P-51's. I had a little chat with him about flying as he was prepping his bird to fly (P-51D). He offered me a flight to Lansing (only about 20 min flight) with him in his P-51 to visit the flight store for some parts, but I had to get back to my pre-flight since I was scheduled to fly. I kick myself this very day for not taking up that offer. I'm sure my instructor would have understood. I was just being stupid and nervous. Considering he auctions off flights in his Mustang for $100k+ I was really stupid. But I thought it was funny he'd fly his Mustang to fetch parts, but hey, why not, lol.

I think I have a few photos of his birds, I'll see if I can find them.

Just installed and flew the P-51... in simulation mode it's hard to turn and control the plane, I thought this was a good handling plane to fly. I have to use game mode to fly well. Makes me wonder if the real P-51 was hard to fly, because in this sim, it goes into a spin somewhat. With the limited feature it sure is worth a $10 game. Not worth $40 even though it's got excellent graphics.

Hey, did you guys play this sim yet? In realistic sim mode the P-51 seems like a difficult plane to fly, not easy to turn and it likes to go into a spin. Do you know how good / easy the real P-51 was to fly?

It's a low wing tail dragger with tons of torque. Different flight dynamics than your traditional trainer aircraft. It for sure wasn't the easiest beast to fly. Need good coordinated use of rudder.
